    The first period Section A (1a-1c)

    一、教学目标(Teaching aims)

    (一)知识目标(Knowledge aims)

    1, Grasp the following words: rain, rainy, windy, cloudy, sunny, snowy, weather,

    2, Grasp the follwing sentences:

      How's the weather in Beijing?

    It's sunny.

      What's the weather like in Shanghai?

    It's cloudy.

    3, Describe the weather conditions and make a weather report.

    (二)过程与方法目标:(Ability aims)

    1, Students learn to describe weather conditions and make a weather report.

    2, Learn to use the important words and target language freely and correctly.

    3, Train students' abilities of listening, speaking and writing.

    (三)情感态度与价值观目标:(Moral aims)

    1, Students know about weather conditions in different places.Establish right time habit. Always remember to be on time.

    2, The nature is great and we should study hard to explore the nature.

    二、教学重点难点(Teaching key points and difficult points.)

    Teaching key points:

    1, Grasp the following words: rain, rainy, windy, cloudy, sunny, snowy, weather,

    2, Grasp the follwing sentences:

      How's the weather in Beijing?

    It's sunny.

      What's the weather like in Shanghai?

    It's cloudy.

    3, Describe the weather conditions and make a weather report.

    1, Students learn to describe weather conditions and make a weather report.

    2, Learn to use the important words and target language freely and correctly.

    Word cards, multimedia courseware, the blackcoard, the textbook.

    七、教学过程( Teaching process)

    Ⅰ. Warming-up and Lead in

    1. Greet the Ss and check the homework. 

    2. Watch a video program about the weather.

    . Presentation (Teach the new words.)

    1. (Show some pictures of the weather)

    Let Ss look at the pictures and ask them how the weather is.

    Ss learn the new words and expressions with the help of the pictures.

    rain, rainy, windy, cloudy, sunny, snowy, weather.

    .Practice the new words(Activity 1a)

     

    1. Look at the pictures in 1a. Then read the new words on the right. Ask the Ss to match the words with pictures.

    2. Check the answers. 

    IV. Game (How's the weather?)

    1. (Showing some pictures on the big screen.) Ask Ss "How's the weather?"

    2. Ss guess and answer the question.

    V. Listening practice.(Activity 1b)

    1. Now let's look at the city names in the box in 1b. Please read after me.

     Ss read the cities after the teacher.

    2. Now, Well hear four conversations. Listen carefully, point out each city in the picture as it comes upon the tape. Play the recording a second time. Ask Ss to write the name of the city in the picture of its weather. 

    3. Check the answers.

    VI. Pair work (Activity 1c)

    1. Tell the Ss: If you are in one of the places in the picture above. Talk about the weather with your friends in another city on the phone.

    2. Make a model with a student like this:

    T: Hi! How's the weather in Beijing?

    S1: It's sunny.

    3. Ss work in pairs. Ask and answer about the weather in the cities.

    VII. Little weather reporter.

    1, Show a map of different weather conditions in different places.Set an example as following:

    Hello, everyone. I am a weather reporter. Today is September 11th. It's cloudy in Sichuan. It's rainy in Shanghai. It's sunny in Beijing. It's windy in Henan. It's snowy in Hainan. Thank you for listening.

    2, Students practice and prepare for a minute. And later invite several students to make weather reports.

    3, Ask students to write a passage by themselves and share their passages with classmates.

    VIII.Summary

    In this period we have learned how to ask and describe weather conditions and they also learned to write down a weather report.

    IX. Homework:

    1, Finish the weather report after class if you didn't finish at school.

    2, After class listen to today's weather report and make a report for us in next period.
