Have you ever felt stressed? Well, you are not alone, as every person in the world has to face stress at one time or another. Since stress is a part of life, it is essential to learn how to deal with it. Here are some strategies for dealing with stress and pressure.

16 To get rid of this feeling, keep yourself organized. For example, you could keep a daily organizer and plan your activities. Get your priorities straight and focus on things that are really important. Do not get stuck in minor issues that only create additional work for you. Break tasks down into manageable bits and tackle them one by one. Proper planning also helps you avoid the stress of doing things at the eleventh hour.

17 Doing things that you like such as listening to music, taking a walk, or reading a book can take your mind off things that bother you. Even doing nothing at all can be beneficial. After a short break, you will feel refreshed and more able to tackle a problem or a piece of work.18 This would only cause you more stress when you have to rush to finish your work in the end.

Finally, do not set such high standards for yourself and others that it leads to dissatisfaction and pressure. If you aim for perfection all the time, you will end up frustrated and stressed out. Learn to slow down, let go and look at the positive side of things. If you ace too anxious about something, you will not be able to think clearly and make good decisions.19 Focus on what has already been done and what is good. Then, negative stressful feelings will disappear.

In conclusion, stress may be unavoidable but it need not make life miserable for you. There are many ways to reduce and deal with stress such as the three strategies shared here.20

ALife gels better once the stress is controlled.

BYou can turn to others when you feel at a loss.

CMost of the time, stress is a result of feeling defeated.

DBesides that, taking time to relax can help you ease stress.

    E. In addition, you could hurt the people around you with that anxiety.

    F. It's common to shoulder a variety of pressure in the eventful world.

    G. Make sure that taking a break is not an excuse for putting off your work.

Humans have a lot of emotions. Expressing anger over a broken promise or a lost opportunity is as healthy as expressing joy and sadness and should be encouraged. However,if anger is frequently expressed, it can prove to be harmful for many reasons. 16 Let's take a look at some ways that you can manage your anger.

17A recommended way to do with anger and recognize how frequently you have this emotion is by keeping a journal to track your emotions. In order to understand your feelings better, note the causes that push you to outbursts, as well as the thoughts that run through your mind when this happens.

Try positive exercises. When you feel the obvious signs of your anger building up, try to focus on positive practices like deep breathing to calm yourself down.18 This can help to prevent an outburst and the negative outcomes that accompany it.

Reach out to loved ones. Just as you would open up to loved ones over the pain of heart break or the joy of a promotion, calling loved ones when you're about to lose control of your temper is a healthy way of dealing with the emotion.19

See a psychologist. Sometimes you feel that your emotions are too strong and unstable to be contained through self-help. 20 It's always a welcome way to get things under control.

    AKeep a mood journal.

BNote all the thoughts in your mind.

CSeeking professional guidance is your best choice

DRepeat the exercise until your anger is controlled.

    E. They can act as a support group, calming you down.

    F. But joy is a necessary part of your well-being in life.

    G. So learning to deal with this emotion becomes important.

    七选五【辽宁省名校2022届高三第二次联合考试】

How should you view this pandemic situation? You shouldn't look at this situation as a force that drags you down. 16 If so, it will take your life to the next level. Here are some tips on how to reinvent yourself.

    Identify your core (核心) skills.

Reinventing yourself means taking a new direction. Most likely, though, it will be based on the foundation (基础) that you have built before. 17 Therefore, you need to look beneath the surface. For instance, you might think that your skill is writing articles but your core skill may actually be connecting different ideas and communicating them.

    Imagine new possibilities.

Having identified your core skills, you can then imagine new possibilities. How can you use your core skills to provide value for people in a new way? Be creative in your imagination. Don't let negative voices stop it. 18

    Be resourceful.

19 Rather than avoiding them, expect them and be prepared. The key here is to be resourceful. I love the dictionary definition of resourceful having the ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties.

    20

Going in a new direction isn't easy. There are pitfalls (陷阱) along the way. If you aren't careful, you could pursue one thing at the expense of other more meaningful things in your life. That's why it's essential that you spend time reflecting. It could be in the form of prayer, journaling, or something else. The important thing is that you take time to reconnect with your deepest values.

    ATake time to reflect

    BFigure out your true value

CLet it go to unexpected directions

DLuckily, you still own your core skills.

    E. One such foundation is your core skills.

    F. Instead, view it as your chance to do something new.

    G. Like it or not, there will be difficulties along the way.

    七选五【山东省2021-2022学年高三上学期第一次适应性联考】

Did you know that about 90% of people in the world are right-handed? Although this subject is rarely discussed, life is often difficult for lefties in a right-handed world.

Many cultures have not been friendly to lefties over the years. 16 In Latin, it was connected with something “unlucky” and “evil”. In Old English, “left” meant “weak”. In Islamic culture, people commonly use their left hand to clean themselves after they use the toilet, so many Muslims feel the left hand is unclean.

Because of these ideas, parents often force their left-handed children to write with their right hands. 17 Studies show that forcing left-handed children to use the right hand can cause learning disorders and speech issues. Besides these challenges, lefties must use tools which aren’t made for them. Most scissors, knives, and musical instruments are designed for righties. Using these items can be difficult or even dangerous for lefties.

18 Some believe that it occurs due to gene movements in the spinal cord before birth. Another study has said that there are social reasons why few people are lefties. People may choose to become right-handed to fit in with others.

Though there are challenges, being left-handed can be good in many ways. 19 This is because right-handers who play against them are not used to their moves. Some studies have also found that on average, left-handers are better at remembering things and dealing with difficult math problems.

Today, society’s ideas about being left-handed have started to change. More and more people believe that being left-handed is a gift to a person instead of a curse (诅咒). 20 It’s on August 13 and called International Lefthanders Day. Left-handed people gather together to celebrate. This special day lets people know that it’s OK if things aren’t all right all the time.

    ALeft-handers have some disadvantages.

    BThere’s even a special day for left-handers.

CBeing a left-hander sometimes docs better jobs.

DFor starters, left-handers might do better in sports.

E.Scientists still aren’t sure why people become left-handed.

F.Unfortunately, this can cause problems with their development.

G.The word was linked to negative ideas in several languages.

    七选五【辽宁省葫芦岛市协作校2021-2022学年高三上学期第一次考试】

Whether you want to impress a new teacher, or just chat with a new acquaintance, knowing how to start a conversation can help you feel more comfortable and confident.

    16. To take an example, when you go into a room full of strangers, most people there are just like you in their hopes and fears. So when you approach someone to start a conversation, you’re helping him, because he wants someone to talk to as much as you do. 17, you can acknowledge and accept them, which will be to your advantage.

No matter what the situation is, you can find something positive to say. Comment on the weather, the food, or the event itself. Saying something as simple as you hope your conversation partner has a good time also is a good way to get a conversation rolling. People tend to respond better to a positive subject rather than a negative one. Staying positive also helps put others at ease. 18.

It can be difficult to try to talk to someone when it feels that you have little in common. In these situations, getting the other person to talk about his or her own interests, work, or expertise can be a useful way. 19, so expressing a genuine interest in the things that other people enjoy can be excellent fuel for a great conversation.

Learning how to start a conversation is an important skill that can help you build social connections. It can be difficult initially, particularly if you struggle with shyness or social anxiety. 20. The more often you start to interact with others, the stronger your conversational skills will become.

AIf you put the skills into practice

BInstead of pushing your fears away

CEveryone feels some level of fear in social situations

DEye contact will make your partner feel embarrassed

    E. Try to think of every interaction as a practice session

    F. People often enjoy talking about things they are passionate about

    G. People will be more interested in continuing a conversation with you

Almost all of us are guilty of spending too much time on our devices so we don't have enough time to enjoy the world around us. We know that little bit of truth might be hard to take in and you might be thinking of shutting off your device now out of guilt.16 We've got some tips on limiting your screen time so you can improve your quality of life.

●Set time out to physically lock your phone. One of the keys to cutting down your screen time is to be disciplined. Picking out a period of time each day to step away from your device is a great way to limit screen time. 17 Of course, this won't prevent you from picking up your phone to scroll through social media or play games. You may also turn your phone off and place it in another room for the amount of time you'd like to stay off of it.

●Monitor screen time reports on apple devices. On iPhones and other Apple devices, you may have noticed that a Weekly Screen Time Report is provided, which gives you the average hours you spend per day on your screen. It even shows you which apps you are using and how frequently you use them. Monitoring this will help you be aware of the amount of time you spend on your device.18

19 The apps like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube will send you a reminder when it's time to log off. This feature is easy to set up and definitely holds you accountable for managing your time.20 If so, you're sure to be on the right track for success in your academic and personal life!

ABut wait and don't turn off your device yet!

BStart managing your screen time more efficiently.

CDiscipline is a better key for you to lock your phone.

DMost devices today have a “Do Not Disturb” setting.

    E. Set a time limit for browsing through social media apps.

    F. Reducing screen time will help you stay in a good mood.

    G. It will help you better plan for spending less time on it as well.

Good volunteers bring a lot of energy to the project. The efforts of volunteers prove invaluable for worthy causes such as helping the needy at soup kitchens or digging a well to provide an undeveloped village with fresh water. But there may be some volunteer who wanders around with his head buried in his smartphone, which is not much better than having no volunteers at all16

    Empathy

First and foremost, a volunteer should care about the people or animals-who need his help.

This means the volunteer looks past cultural, religious and social differences and is only concerned that his efforts are making a positive impact on the lives of others.17Lending a hand at homeless shelter, for example, doesn't give a volunteer the right to discuss the situations of the people who need the shelter outside of the volunteer group.

    Passion

Passion is an important quality that a good volunteer should possess.18 It's something he looks forward to doing, something he feels a need to do. His enthusiasm is so genuine that he tells other people about the work he does and encourages other people to get on board. A volunteer with this kind of passion can be a one-person advertising agency for a worthy cause.

    Professionalism

19He treats volunteering with the same level of professionalism that he does his job and he respects the rules that come with it. He does what he says he's going to do and fights through obstacles to make it happen. He also doesn't lower his level of quality output because he isn't being paid for it; he puts his best effort forward because his reward is the difference he's making.

    Team Player

It's important for a volunteer to be a self-starter, but it's equally important for him to know how to work as part of a team.20No matter what differences in personality, upbringing or outlook, everyone involved is in it for the same purpose: to help those who are unable to help themselves.

AHe must also respect the privacy of the people he helps.

BHe knows how to cooperate with other volunteers with passion.

CWhat inspires someone to be a volunteer?

DWhat qualities does a good volunteer need to possess?

    E. Volunteering is still in great need even though more and more people take on board.

    F.  A good volunteer is reliable and dependable.

    G. Volunteering for his favorite cause isn't just another way to spend a Saturday.

Four steps to Help Someone Having a Panic Attack

In the United States, 1 in 3 people will have an anxiety disorder at some point in their lives, according to the National Institute of Mental Health. 16

If your loved one is having a panic attack, there are several ways you can provide support.

    Name It

Gently name it, and tell your loved one that you believe they are having a panic attack. 17 Meanwhile, you can let them know that it will pass—usually panic attacks can last anywhere from5 to 30 minutes.

    Stay Calm

One of the best ways to help someone is to remain calm yourself, even if you're feeling a little uneasy about what's happening.

    Give Them Space

If your loved one need space, you can give it to them until their panic attack passes. 18 If they do, you can help improve their ability to independently experience their symptoms by offering the coping statement once or twice, letting them ride out their symptoms until they pass.

    19

While someone is having a panic attack, we do want to be empathetic (同情), but we don't want to stress the idea that panic is very dangerous and harmful. So, rather than giving your loved one too much comfort and concern, you can remind them that they can cope with what's happening on their own by offering supportive statements like:

    “You can handle these symptoms.”

    20

Whether it's your friend, or partner, chances are you know someone who has had, or will have, a panic attack. With a few research-backed techniques, you can make a true difference.

    AConvey your empathy.

    BOffer a coping statement.

CWhy are you so upset over that?

DThey might ask you to stick around.

E.The feelings aren't comfortable, but you can accept them.

F.Statistics show that women are twice as likely as men to have a panic disorder.

G.This can provide some context for what's happening and relieve the fear of the unknown.

    七选五【河北省省级联测2021-2022学年高三上学期第三次联考】

Can you remember a time when somebody was kind to you? Perhaps a person allowed you to go in front of them in a queue. Maybe your sister phoned you to ask how your week was going. Or perhaps a stranger or a friend helped you in a much deeper way. 16

Few people would disagree with the idea that a kind action is good for the soul. It is a win-win situation, leading to a sense of well-being for both the receiver and the giver. As a simple example, let's imagine you have a workmate who always does a very good job. 17 Your workmate will be happy to receive some praise and, in addition, you will probably feel good about yourself for having spread a little joy.

18 The idea behind this is that it doesn't take any major plan to be kind, just a little bit of effort. They believe that kindness can be taught and that it is contagious(有感染力的). So by being kind to others, a more bright community and world will be created.

Some websites suggest more imaginative ways to show kindness. 19 The first is interpersonal kindness. Some examples are donating old clothes to charity or writing a positive online comment about a restaurant that you like. The second is environmental kindness, which could mean simply recycling or organizing a group event to clean a local park or beach. The third category is less obvious: personal kindness, which means treating yourself kindly. Some examples are taking a walk in nature or setting yourself an objective to complain less. 20

ADoing something good can be very hard.

BYou praise it and show your admiration.

CGenerally, these fall into three categories.

    DOffering kindness can bring happiness.

    E. There are a million ways to offer kindness.

    F. People are encouraged to do random acts of kindness.

    G. If you are kind to yourself, you will naturally be kinder to others.

    七选五【辽宁省沈阳市郊联体2021-2022学年高三上学期期中】

Life is full of hard choices. And what should you do when all alternatives seem equally good? Here are some tips on making decisions.

Relax. If you're stressed, you're more likely to overlook something important. However, when you're relaxed, you can think clearly, weigh your options and make a better choice.16

Focus on the present. You can become stressed out with the big picture, trying to see how your decisions will affect your future.17But no one can be sure of the future until it comes. So just focus on the present and make the best possible decision now.

Accept failure. Your biggest fear probably is that your decision may lead to bad results.18And whatever the decision is, it will enrich your life anyway, in one way or another. So do not worry about making wrong decisions.

Seek good advice. Don't ask every one of your friends or family!19Don't be afraid to ask for advice, and be willing to listen. Sometimes others' advice can make a new way for you.

20No matter how you come to your decision, claim the ownership of your decision. Take full responsibility for your choices. Even if you meet with failure, you at least know you have tried your best and gained some valuable experience.

    AMake your own decision.

BTherefore, slow down and keep calm.

CBeing kind to yourself lessens your need for approval.

DBut we can recover and learn from bad decisions.

    E. Only consult those who have faced similar circumstances.

    F. Not every problem can be solved by making a decision.

    G. This process is tiring as you're trying to see your future clearly.
