Her apartment is lcated nt far frm a very pleasant park alng the river. It's a quiet neighbrhd cmpared with the nisy city center. It's a three-bedrm apartment. It's quite spacius．I think it cvers abut 130 square meters. She lives n the tenth flr and she has tw balcnies with a nice view ver the river. On a clear day, yu can see the muntains that surrund Fuzhu.
As sn as yu get inside, yu are in the living rm. There's a huge cuch（＝sfa) facing a wide-screen TV. My friend put a wden cffee table in frnt f it. The quiet place where I find refuge n a daily basis is my bedrm. I have been living in the same apartment fr years．I live in the suburbs f Fuzhu City, in a pretty peaceful neighbrhd. I live with my parents and my grandmther, but I have my wn bedrm, which is cnvenient when I need t study, r when I need time n my wn.
My bedrm is nt that big：I think it's nly 15 r 16 square meters．But it is well-furnished：first f all, I have a queen-size bed，and I ften lie there t read cmics r nvels．It is very czy. The mattress is very hard; it's nice fr my back, and I have like 5 pillws and cushins. Next t my bed is a bkshelf. I have hundreds f bks．Mst f them used t belng t my parents, and I still buy bks n a regular basis．I read a lt. I think it's fun and infrmative at the same time. In additin, there's a large desk in frnt f the windw. My rm is quite bright. It's a nice place t relax.

I wuld spend whle afternns there studying, smetimes by myself, smetimes with classmates．In the summer, I culd enjy the cl air frm the air cnditiner (AC). And the place ffered a relaxed atmsphere as well as precius help frm the librarians．
The library has everything students need. It ffers priceless resurces fr every field. The library is divided int different sectins, and readers als have access t cmputers t d sme research, r find the bks we need. Yu can find a great variety f textbks, nvels r articles related t everyne's interests．We culd als pick up a newspaper r a magazine t read fr pleasure.

It is a pleasant and peaceful city in spite f its 7 millin inhabitants．Fuzhu is surrunded by muntains and bamb frests．As a result, it is easy t get away fr the weekend, t enjy impressive waterfalls r t g hiking up in the wds. When peple cme t Fuzhu, they usually visit a temple r tw, take phts f the huge banyan trees, and take a dip in the natural ht springs．Fuzhu is famus fr its clrful and sweet cuisine．The specialties here are sweet and sur prk and sea fd, since we are nt far at all frm the cast. The lcals will definitely try t make yu taste the renwned fish balls and drink lcal green tea.
Nevertheless, mst f the ld city has been trn apart, and skyscrapers and high-rises have nw replaced the typical ld wden huses pretty much everywhere．In additin, wider streets were built t facilitate traffic．Fuzhu has undergne massive changes in the last ten years, and nw the city is still expanding bth nrth and suth f the Min River. I like t think that the city is becming cleaner and better rganized althugh I knw there is still wrk t d. It is called Xichan Temple. Yu can't miss it because there's a huge pagda standing in the middle f the curtyard. I believe there are 12 r 14 different stries t the Buddhist twer and frm the tp yu have a spectacular view f the whle city！
Peple wh g t the temple burn jss-paper as well as incense because they believe they will be prsperus in the afterlife if they d s．The smell is verwhelming but it's very enjyable．This temple is quite large and many mnks live there. It's a mnastery and yu will see them pray t the Buddha whenever yu g there. If yu get there during a festival, the place will be very crwded and lively. Peple dn't hesitate t bring fferings t the Buddha such as fruit, il and flwers．It's a clrful religin.
The temple is divided int many different buildings．The architecture is incredible．The rfs fllw traditinal Chinese style with multi-inclined carpentry (use yur hands).The ceilings are very high and the decratins inside are breathtaking. Let me tell yu abut a fur-star htel called the Shangri-La. It is cnveniently lcated in the city center, and I believe that mst entrepreneurs，state fficers, and rich freign turists wh cme t my city stay there. It is a fancy htel; actually it is definitely the best place t bk a rm in my hmetwn.
Frm the utside, the Shangri-La Htel is a mdern skyscraper. It cunts at least 30 flrs, and the building seems t be cvered with huge windws. At night, they illuminate the edges f the building, and it lks quite neat. Actually, it was built next t a big square in my city, and yu can see the htel frm very far away. It's a landmark easily recgnizable building) in my hmetwn.
When yu walk in the htel, yu will be welcmed by a drman, and at first yu can enjy the light fragrance f the air in the building. I dn't knw hw they d it, but the place smells s nice：it is very relaxing．The ceiling is extremely high, and the lunge is very spacius and cmfrtable. It seems like every piece f furniture inside the htel was carefully selected. The place is well-decrated, with paintings hanging n the walls, amazing chandeliers hanging dwn frm the ceiling, and clrful decratins depending n the time f year. I had dinner there last year fr Spring Festival, and the place was all red, with rnaments representing the Chinese festival: they had scrlls and calligraphy arund the drs and lanterns hanging frm the ceiling. It was stunning！
I have had the chance t eat there nce, but I hpe that in the future I will be able t g back, t treat my parents t a nice dinner there.

Let me tell yu abut my middle schl. I studied at Number 3 Junir High in Fuzhu and I think I can say I am very familiar with the place because, as a teenager, I spent s much time studying and hanging arund at schl. As yu may knw, Chinese students are required t study six days a week and ur schedule is usually very tight. We almst cnsidered ur schl as a secnd hme since we spent mre time there than anywhere else.
My schl was a rather large schl, with abut 3000 students. Yu need t imagine large classrms, packed with students. I think there were arund 55 students n average in each class. The classrms were nt very mdem but I can't say that it was ttally ld-fashined as we had access t a cmputer in mst rms. There were electric fans n the ceiling and the desks were nt made f wd like in schls in the cuntryside.
At Number 3 Middle Schl, there is a huge playgrund with abut 8 basketball curts. Bys lve t play basketball at recess r after schl. Girls usually walk arund and chitchat with ne anther n a bench. In Fuzhu we have big banyan trees and there is an impressive ne at the entrance f the schl. The buildings have 5 flrs and frm the tp, yu have a nice view f the surrundings.
Teachers at schl were quite prfessinal. Number 3 Middle Schl has a gd reputatin and teachers are qualified and experienced. I learned a lt frm them, especially frm my Chinese teacher, Mr. Wu. He was a passinate and fascinating teacher wh always had a nice wrd t say in rder t encurage us all. He taught me hw t remain psitive and enthusiastic.
I als kept in tuch with many f my classmates and we try t get tgether whenever we cme back t Fuzhu. We always reminisce abut high schl.

There are tw main aisles in the shp．On ne side they sell snacks such as peanuts, dry fruit, chips and ndles．On the ther side, they sell husehld supplies like cleaning supplies, twels, sap, shamp, tthbrushes, msquit repellent and ther day-t-day necessities. Next t the cunter, there are big cntainers f rice and flur. Yu can help yurself t a bag r, if yu want, the shp wner will give yu a hand. I ften g there t buy a drink when I cme back frm schl. Everyne appreciates having the stre inside ur cmmunity. Otherwise, we wuld have t walk all the way t the bigger supermarket, and it wuld take a lt mre time. In additin, the cnvenience stre stays pen until 11 r 12 at night every day, and the prices are very reasnable. The shp definitely makes ur lives easier, and strengthens the sense f cmmunity amng residents.

I studied there fr 2 mnths in rder t imprve my English. I made friends with the teachers and the salesmen. Yu knw, in China, these kinds f schls are very cmmn, as many students plan t study abrad r immigrate.
The cmpany cunts 15 teachers．It is a pretty small business cmpared t ther establishments．It is a franchise, and the bss frm the schl must pay mney every year t the headquarters in Beijing in rder t use the name "Glden English".
I believe there are three departments in the cmpany. The academic department is the ne made up f teachers．Their manager is a Chinese lady wh is a teacher herself. They rganize schedules, plan the classes and place students in the apprpriate level. There is als a marketing department. They are in charge f advertising. Their jb is t prmte the schl. They use different methds：they wrk n the website, and they rganize speeches and activities fr the schl in different universities．They als publish articles in the newspapers. It seems like business is grwing year after year, althugh the cmpetitin in the English sectr is getting fierce．Nwadays there are s many training schls in my hmetwn. Unfrtunately I will describe the river that runs thrugh my hmetwn. The Min River is the largest and mst famus river in Fujian Prvince, but nwadays, sadly it is als infamus fr being extremely plluted.
Thirty years ag, the water was crystal clear. We culd see fish at the bttm f the river. The water was pure, and peple lved t gather n the banks f the river t fish. My grandfather tld me that the water used t reflect different shades f green and blue, accrding t the sky and whether r nt it was a sunny day. Peple used t swim there, and it was a great place t hang ut with friends, r yur girlfriend. It was cnsidered t be a stunning and rmantic site in Fuzhu.
But nwadays，the river is plluted and smelly. Factries have been releasing their chemical waste int the river fr years．As a result, the clr has changed greatly. It is cmpletely dark. Because it is nt such a pleasant place anymre, peple litter, and yu can see plastic bags and bttles flating n the surface. I wuld definitely nt swim there anymre！It is t disgusting.
We shuld intrduce strict legislatin n envirnmental prtectin, and spend mney t update the sewer system．When I see that s many sewer drains end up in the river, it makes me sick, and it drives me crazy！
