The famus sculpture that I will try t describe is the Terra-Ctta Warrirs in Xi’an. This place has becme ne f the mst ppular turist destinatins in China.
The stry ges that the Emperr Qin Shi Huang was afraid f dying. As a result, he decided t surrund his mausleum with replicas f his army. He had up t 7000 statues f Chinese sldiers and hrses created and tday yu can still see mst f them.
Each statue was handmade and great attentin was paid t details．Actually, every single warrir has a different facial expressin and hairstyle. I can't imagine hw much time it tk fr the artists t create all f them. What is even mre surprising is that they are all life-sized statues.
There are prbably hundreds mre statues still buried arund. I have seen pictures and it lks like a gigantic pit. The site is mst impressive. I have never been there, but I believe that the visit must be wrth the lng trip．

I wuld like t describe Lenard Da Vinci's famus Mna Lisa. It is withut a dubt the mst prestigius painting in the wrld, and everyne can easily recgnize the prtrait.
This masterpiece was painted in the 16th century, during the Italian Renaissance. It is an il painting, and it represents a half-length prtrait f a wman. The sitter was the wife f a rich merchant f Flrence. Her first name was Lisa, and Mna is a cntractin f ma Dnna, which means "my lady" in Italian. They say that Da Vinci wrked n the prtrait fr 3 years, and then put it away fr a cuple f years befre finishing it right befre his death.
The amazing amunt f time he spent n the painting explains why there are s many details t her facial expressin. Everyne knws that Mna Lisa displays an enigmatic smile. Her eyes are als quite stunning. I have heard peple say that they seem t fllw yu wherever yu are standing lking at her. Her face is very bright cmpared t the dark clthes she's wearing. Da Vinci said that he wanted t represent eternal femininity. I guess he succeeded, because she has been ne f the mst famus wmen in the wrld fr mre than 500 years!
Althugh I dn't knw much abut art, I truly hpe t get a chance t travel t Eurpe in the future. I wuld lve t get a chance t visit art museums in Italy and France.

My cuntry is famus fr its wide variety f art frms, especially flk arts: every Chinese persn is familiar with embridery, calligraphy, r handicrafts such as the making f Chinese knts. But my favrite frm f flk art is Chinese paper-cutting.
Paper-cutting is extremely ppular arund Spring Festival every year. We buy paper-cuts as rnaments, and we usually stick them n windws r drs. In Chinese we ccasinally refer t paper-cuts as chuang hua, which means "windw flwer". They decrate and bring life t ur windws. In additin, sme artists incrprate paper-cuts int the making f lanterns. The results are always stunning, and very traditinal.
Usually paper-cuts are made f red paper in China. Red is the natinal clr t start with, and n tp f this, it als represents gd luck. Fr the New Year, ffering red paper cuts t smene means we wish them prsperity and health. In the cuntryside, red implies that we wish farmers gd weather and gd harvest.

There are many perfrmances I have watched, but I fund the pening ceremny f the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games abslutely stunning. Of curse, as a Chinese persn, I am quite patritic and it's bvius that I was very prud that China gt t hst the Games, but I really feel that the perfrmance that tk place at the Bird's Nest, the massive stadium built fr the ccasin, was spectacular.
It was such an imprtant mment fr everyne in China, because we had been expecting this event fr years. The rest f the wrld finally recgnized the emergence f China as an imprtant player in tday's wrld. I think this is what the shw depicted: ur Chinese heritage, with thusands f years f histry, and the mdernity and the changes still taking place in tday's China. And the perfect example f this cmbinatin f ancient and mdern was mirrred by the scrll that was unflded n the stadium's field.
All in all, it was amazing, lively, splendid and almst magical!

Let me intrduce yu abut a majr blckbuster called Avatar. I am sure that yu have heard f it, r even seen it, because everyne talked abut it when it came ut.
It is believed that it was a breakthrugh in terms f film-making technlgy, because it was released in 3D. It was my first time seeing a mvie in 3D, and I must admit that I was dazzled by the picture and the impressive special effects.
Avatar is a science fictin epic film. I thught the plt was quite simple, even if the backgrund scenery was very creative and abslutely stunning. The actin takes place n anther planet (called Pandra), and humans are mining the mineral reserves f the new planet. They are lking fr a very expensive type f rck. The prblem is that the jungle where the precius stne is t be fund is inhabited by indigenus peple, wh f curse live very pure, traditinal lives and wh are ready t fight against the greedy humans.
What impressed me mst were the visual effects. The stry unflds in a breathtaking jungle, but every plant and wild animal living there seems t cme frm a fairy tale. The directr, James Camern, really did an amazing jb creating the backgrund. And the music, yu knw, the sundtrack, was als excellent. Because f the 3D technlgy, I felt like I was part f the mvie, and I actually put up my hands t prtect myself a cuple f times when they were fighting because it seemed s real!

Let me intrduce yu abut a very famus sng that came ut in China in 2008. The sng is entitled Beijing Huan Ying Ni in Chinese. It translates as Beijing Welcmes Yu.
As yu can guess, the sng was released a cuple f mnths befre the summer Olympic Games were held in ur capital city. Yu knw, it was the first time that China has hsted such a cmpetitin, and it was a big deal fr the gvernment and the ppulatin. The aim f the sng was t capture the spirit behind the Olympics, and als t infrm everybdy that Beijing was ready. The lyrics are very meaningful and well-written. The chrus was extremely catchy, and I think that everyne in China heard the sng n a daily basis fr like 2 mnths. We almst heard it t much.
In additin, the meldy is very subtle, very smth and gentle. It starts very slwly, but the pace quickly picks up t give mre energy t the sng. At several pints during the sng, there is an instrumental intermissin, and that's a great time fr peple t hum the tune. There are trumpets and drums in the backgrund. It sunds great!
Finally, if yu watch the music vide, yu can see the singers perfrming in frnt f all the majr mnuments in Beijing. We get t peek at the Great Wall, at the Frbidden City, the Temple f Heaven and the hutngs, yu knw, thse ancient streets, very famus in Beijing. Anyway, whenever I g t karake with my friends, we still always pick this sng, because everyne can sing alng, and it's a great chance t bring everyne clser tgether.

Let me intrduce yu abut the a cncert f a Taiwanese singer called Zhu Jielun. Several years ag, he came t Fuzhu t give a cncert. The cncert was held inside the pen stadium f Fujian Nrmal University.
As sn as I heard he was cming, I called ne f my friends wh studies there t ask her t get me a ticket. My friend decided t buy us tw very gd seats up frnt, and althugh it was a little expensive, it was definitely wrth it! We arrived at the stadium early: we were s excited! It was arund 6 pm, and we saw the sun g dwn just befre ur favrite singer came n stage. They had arranged a big stage in the end zne f the stadium, with seats n the field and the track, and ther peple sitting n benches up in the stands.
When Zhu Jielun appeared, sme firewrks went ff and the crwd cheered and clapped like crazy. Peple were all clse t each ther, and the atmsphere was abslutely fantastic. He sang his new sngs, as well as his previus hits that everyne knws. S everyne sang alng: it was awesme.
I truly hpe that I will get t see anther live perfrmance sn again, maybe in Australia, where I plan t cntinue my studies.
