第二节 书面表达
答案:
Dear Peter,
How is everything going? You know I'm going to graduate from senior high school. As for the future career, in fact, I dream of becoming a doctor.
The idea of being a doctor was born when I witnessed my sick grandfather being treated and being attended to by a caring medical team. It's the doctors' strong sense of responsibility and their excellent medical skills that impress me most.
My dream to be a doctor is firmly confirmed because of the contributions those white angels have made in the fight against the epidemic COVID-19 since the beginning of 2020. Fearless of death, they rushed to the front, fulfilling their duty of healing the wounded and rescuing the dying. I'm very much inspired by their selflessness, determined to follow their example.
This is my dream job. I just wish I could make it come true through my hard work. How about your ideal job option? Looking forward to your sharing next time!
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
附:听力录音材料
Text 1
M: Can you tell me where you were born?
W: I was born in England, but I spent most of my childhood in India, where I was brought up by my grandparents. Believe it or not, I'm leaving for China for further study.
Text 2
W: As far as I'm concerned, I'm never going to see another movie like that again.
M: Well, as far as the plot is concerned, I think it's an interesting movie.
W: Yes, but some of the scenes were too scary.
Text 3
W: We have been looking for Lucy. Do you still remember when Lucy got to school this afternoon?
M: Yeah. She was supposed to be here at a quarter past two. But the clock on the tower struck two when she arrived.
Text 4
W: I'm sick and tired of restaurants. Everything there is expensive, and nothing is to my satisfaction.
M: I can't agree more. I have been eating out almost every day recently. Let's just eat at home today.
Text 5
W: I heard you wanted to get out of this company and find another job?
M: I'm just wasting my time here—there is no chance to get a pay raise, much less a promotion.
Text 6
W: Why can't we grow our hair long at school? I don't think there is any difference between long and short hair.
M: I agree with you! I don't think long hair is bad, especially for girls.
W: When do you think our school is going to let us have any hairstyle we want?
M: Maybe soon. Who knows?
W: Why not get rid of the regulation on hair?
M: Not every teacher and every student agrees.
W: I think most students agree. Our opinion is just as important as the opinion of others.
M: You may be right.
Text 7
M: Excuse me, I'm looking for my son Frank Smith. He was brought here with a fever.
W: Er, I don't see any patient named Frank on the board. Are you sure it is this hospital?
M: Well, yes. My wife sent a message to me. I was at work. The machine was too noisy, so I just got it. She said she was driving our 4-year-old son to your hospital and he was having a high fever.
W: Oh, wait. I find it. He is in Room 302.
M: Oh, thank God.
Text 8
W: I'm trying to decide who to invite to a barbecue.
M: A barbecue? Will I be invited, Susan?
W: Yeah, of course! My parents are having a barbecue on Saturday. They said I can invite some friends.
M: Great!
W: But it's complicated, Tom.
M: Why? What's the problem?
W: Well, I'm only allowed to invite five people.
M: Ah, OK. What are you thinking? Who's on your list?
W: Well, I've got you, Jack, obviously, and Leah, so that's three. Sam can't come so I can invite two more, but I'm not sure who to ask.
M: Hmm, right. Why don't you ask Marco?
Text 9
W: Can you tell us a little bit about your current project? What are you working on now?
M: I'm writing a book about some of the most important technological inventions of the 19th and early 20th centuries. It's about how things like the typewriter or the fax machine were developed, and so on.
W: That sounds really interesting.
M: Yes, it is. It's fascinating. It is particularly fun to read about the personalities behind the inventions, like a lot of inventors were amateurs, and some of them were considered to be crazy! But they had this incredible determination. They absolutely believed in what they were doing.
W: Um.
M: Take George Eastman for example. He was a photographer and he was about to go on vacation in the Caribbean, to take pictures. But then on the night before he was supposed to leave, he looked at all that he had to take, and in the 1870s if you wanted to take a photo, you know, you had to carry glass plates, chemicals, equipment and so on and he said to himself, "I'm not carrying all the stuff. There's going to be an easier way to take photographs!" So he canceled his vacation, quit his job, stayed home and invented film instead.
W: That's great.
Text 10
M: Imagine a kind of new chocolate that keeps you looking younger. It seems too good to be true, but some scientists believe they have invented anti-aging chocolate. A laboratory working with the UK's Cambridge University has been working on a method to keep away wrinkles and keep the skin looking younger. The new product is called Cambridge Beauty Chocolate. The makers will start selling it from next month. The laboratory has not said anything about the price yet, but it is likely to be quite expensive. The laboratory used a special chemical in the chocolate. The chemical they used is one that gives food the pink color. The scientists said that the chemical can bring parts of the skin of a 50 to 60-year-old person back to the level of a 20 to 30-year-old person. They said people who eat the chocolate can see changes in their skin within just three weeks. A spokesman for the laboratory said it took a decade of research and trials with more than 3,000 volunteers to produce the chocolate. The chocolate bar will only be sold in boxes of 21 bars—one a day for three weeks. Other scientists said more research is needed for people to know whether or not the chocolate actually works.
