    In a digital age, we almst never write things by hand. Hwever, new brain research, led by researchers at the Nrwegian University f Science and Technlgy, cnfirms handwriting has many benefits. It results in better learning and memry ver using a keybard.
    The study was cnducted using equipment t track and recrd brain wave activity. The participants included 12 yung adults and 12 children. Each was asked t write by hand and type n a keybard while wearing a hd (风帽)with ver 250 electrdes (电极). The sensrs (传感器) in the electrdes are very sensitive and pick up the electrical activity that takes place in the brain. Each persn tk turns t have a 45-minute examinatin.
    The results shwed that the brain in bth yung adults and children is much mre active when writing by hand than when typing n a keybard. Accrding t Van der Meer, plenty f senses are activated by pressing a pen n paper. These sense experiences build cntact between different parts f the brain, pening the brain up fr learning.
    Van der Meer believes that the results stress the imprtance f children being challenged t draw and write at an early age, especially at schl. “Learning t write by hand is a bit slwer prcess, but it’s imprtant fr children t g thrugh the tiring phase f learning t write by hand,” she said.
    The hand mvements used t frm the shapes f letters are beneficial in several ways. “If yu use a keybard, yu use the same mvement fr each letter.
