Glands (腺) in the skin lining the ear canal prduce earwax (耳垢)，which prtects the canal by cleaning ut dirt and helping t prevent infectins.
The middle ear is an air-filled hle that turns sund waves int vibratins and delivers them t the inner ear. The middle ear is separated frm the uter ear by the eardrum (鼓膜)，a thin piece f tissue stretched tight acrss the ear canal. Sunds hit the eardrum, causing it t mve.
The vibratins frm the middle ear change int nerve signals in the inner ear. The inner ear includes the cchlea (耳蜗) and the semicircular canals.
