As the funder f the ASPCA (美国防止虐待动物协会), Henry Bergh is cnsidered t be a natinal her. He made America a safer place fr animals.
Henry Bergh was brn in a rich family in New Yrk City in 1813. When he was abut fifty years ld, he was ffered a gvernment jb in Russia.
While in Russia, Henry Bergh saw that animals were treated badly. Because f his high psitin in the gvernment, he had the pwer t rder them t stp. It was then that he decided t give animals a better life in the United States.
Befre returning t the USA, Henry Bergh met the Earl (伯爵) f Harrw by in Lndn. The Earl f Harrwby supprted animal rights and served as president f the RSPCA in England. After spending sme time with the Earl, Henry Bergh had gained the knwledge that he needed t start his wn animal prtectin rganizatin and hurried hme t intrduce his idea t the American peple.
In April 1866, Henry Bergh became successful in helping t pass the first law that made it illegal (违法的) t harm animals. A few days later, Henry Bergh started the ASPCA. He wrked as the first president f the rganizatin.
