Teaching procedures

Step 1  Warming up & Revision

1. Greet the class.

2. Free talk with the Ss.

3. Say the chant on P33.

Step 2  Presentation & Practice

1. Ask and answer.

Ask the Ss to use the following sentence structures:

Where are you from?

Who’s that man/woman?

Who’s that boy/girl?

   Is he/she your father/mother?

2. Watch the video about the sounds.

3. Review Let’s spell of each unit.

4. Show the Ss a picture of Find and circle. Lead the Ss to 

circle the words that they can find. Then check the 

answers.

5. Lead the Ss to sing the song The cat is from the UK.

A. Draw the Ss attention to the page.

B. Ask the Ss to read the words, and listen to the song.

C. Help the Ss learn the new words or phrases.

D. Make sure the Ss understand the meaning of the song.

E. Teach the Ss the song line by line. Try to sing the song together.

Step 3  Consolidation & Extension

1. Present the sounds and the words on the Bb. Have Ss make read it out. 
2. Do exercises.

  A. Look and judge.

  B. Look and find.

Step 4  Summary & Homework

1. Focus on the words and the letters Aa, Ee, Ii.

2. Do homework.
