The musician, Hu Yiying, is a famous Chinese huqin (a traditional Chinese instrument) player. She and 19 students dressed in white shirts and blue pants or skirts climbed to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall in Huairou District in Beijing. And they played the song on the erhu, a kind of huqin.
“I came up with the idea when I was with my friends, as I had always wanted to do something meaningful to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Party,” said Hu, who has devoted herself to spreading traditional Chinese art around the world.
Hu began playing the huqin at the age of 5 and has become a well-known player in the China Oriental Performing Arts Group. One of her recent compositions is called Chen Xiao. It’s a musical piece played on the erhu, describing the cruel(残酷的) war between Palestine and Israel. It has caught great attention from other musicians in the world.
Hu chose the song My Motherland and I as she believed that it was full of patriotism. People could surely express their love for the country through it. They later spent an hour climbing the Great Wall instead of taking a cable car(缆车), because the students believed that it was a way to show respect for the activity.

Many companies dream of employing as few people as possible. Why? Human workers need to be trained and paid. They have bad days and make mistakes. Machines and computers, on the other hand, have none of these problems. They do what they are programmed to do, day after day, year after year. And they never ask for a raise(加薪). As time passes, using the electronic “cashier(出纳员)” can save a huge amount of money.
Now it has entered the world of retail(零售). In recent years, a growing number of companies have opened unmanned stores. These stores do not need human workers to run them. Of course, such stores still need human workers to keep the shelves full, clean the store and so on.
There are several unmanned stores in China. For example, the F5 Future Store opened in Guangzhou in 2014. In this store, things are provided by special machines after the things are paid for with a smartphone. Hangzhou’s TakeGo system uses a special machine to identify(识别) the customer and record the things he/she has bought. Then the bill will be paid through his/her Alipay automatically(自动地).
Amazon’s first such supermarket, Amazon Go, opened in Seattle in February 2020 and offers over 5,000 kinds of things. With the development of technology, many other companies have gone into this field. But it seems that many people do not like shopping in these stores. Some businessmen have had to close unmanned stores, even though others are opening them. Customers taking a look at the future of retailing may not like what they see.
31. How does the writer introduce the topic?
A. By telling a story. B. By making a comparison. C. By listing advantages
32. What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 2 refer to?
A. Alipay. B. An unmanned store. C. The electronic “cashier”.
33. According to the passage, what do the F5 Future Store, TakeGo and Amazon Go have in common?
A. Customers can pay through Alipay.
B. Each store needs to identify customers first.
C. Human cashiers are not needed in the stores.
34. What does the writer think of the future of the unmanned stores?
A. Companies can make big money from them.
B. They will replace the normal stores in the end.
C. The unmanned stores still have a long way to go.
35. What is the best title for the passage?
A. A new way to shop
B. China’s unmanned stores
C. How to run an unmanned store

阅读下面的短文,根据短文内容回答问题。
Dinosaurs used to be very common on the earth. Then about 65 million years ago, most of them disappeared. What happened to them? Although it is still a mystery, there are many possible answers to the question. Here is one of them.
The idea was suggested by scientists who were studying old layers(层) of rocks. In rock layers which are 65 million years old, the scientists found a rare metal(稀有金属). Another scientist found a layer of black dust(粉尘) that might be produced by a great fire.
The metal has been found in meteorites(陨石). And scientists believe it can be found in asteroids(小行星), too.
65 million years ago, a huge asteroid might hit the earth. Then wildfires broke out. After the fire burned out, there was so much dust in the air that the sun could not shine through. The earth got colder and colder. For this reason, many plants could not grow. Dinosaurs that ate plants died because they could not find enough food. Then meat-eating dinosaurs died, too.
The dust cloud may have hung over the earth for many months or even a year. Slowly it covered the ground, making the layers that scientists have discovered.
The idea is very possible because we know there have been similar events. In 1908, something hit the earth in the forest of Siberia, a part of Russia. It destroyed millions of trees and caused fires. The object might be an asteroid.
41. Did the scientists know the real reason that dinosaurs disappeared?
42. How was the black dust probably produced?
43. Why did the earth get colder and colder?
44. How long did the dust hang over the earth according to the passage?
45. How does the writer support his opinion in the last paragraph?
