Difficult points: To develop the students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing.Teaching procedures: Step 1 Warm-up 1. Ask some questions to review some information about films. T: Well, Group One is winner. Let’s answer some questions. Listen to me carefully. Where does Eddie think he should be? Ss: Hollywood. T: Eddie would like to be in Hollywood. Do you know anything about Hollywood? 2.Show the pictures of Hollywood, introduce something about Hollywood. T: “Hollywood” is a suburb of Los Angeles, California, and is the home of the American film industry. How many Hollywood film stars do you know? Ask a few students to answer the question in class. Then show some pictures of the Hollywood superstars on the screen. T: How much do you know about the Oscars? S1: An Oscars is an award that is given in the USA each year for the best film, best actor, etc in the film industry. S2: ... Step 2 Lead in T: Do you like movies / films? Do you have your favourite movie star? Who is he / she? Ask students to answer them first, then show four pictures of the famous movie stars on the screen. Let the students guess who he/she is. Step 3 Presentation Show the students four pictures of Audrey Hepburn on the screen and say something about Audrey Hepburn’s childhood. Then ask students to answer the questions T: When and where was Audrey born? What lesson did she take when she was very young? Did she like dancing? What had Audrey been before she became a Hollywood superstar? Show the pictures of Audrey on the screen, and at the same time the teacher tells the students something about her film career at Hollywood.. say true or false according to my description. Then ask students to tell “T” or “F” to the following sentences. 1) Audrey Hepburn met Colette when she was filming “My Fair Lady”._____ 2) Audrey Hepburn won the Best Actress Oscars once._____ 3) Audrey Hepburn won the Tony Awards for the play Gigi.______ 4) “Funny Face” was Audrey Hepburn’s last Hollywood film ______ 5) Audrey Hepburn acted in a TV series called “Garden of the World with Audrey Hepburn”._____ Tell students what Audrey did after she left film industry. 教后记: 在教学实践中,本人体会到,阅读教学应该处理好以下关系:教师的“教”和学生的“学”。教师更应该多关注如何教会学生阅读,而不是仅向学生灌输大量的语言知识。教学是学生在教师的帮助和指导下掌握知识和形成技能的过程。教师应让学生在活动中发挥主体地位,让学生自己去发现问题,分析问题和解决问题。在教学设计过程中,要尽可能考虑学生情感在教学中的重要性,要设法让学生在快乐中学习。本节课是关于好莱坞明星奥黛丽赫本的阅读材料,相对而言学生在这一方面还是很感兴趣的,所以比较容易激发学生的兴趣,课堂的导入较为轻松,对于教学环节的设计,采取了由浅入深,环环相扣,帮助学生熟悉文本。但值得注意的是在强调课堂气氛的活跃的同时,不能忽视了学生对知识的掌握和能力的培养。
