Teaching content: Reading
Teaching aims:
1. To know the basic knowledge of the Special Olympics World Games.
2. To grasp some common reading skills.
3. To enhance the students' passion for volunteering.
4. To arouse the students’ sympathy for people with intellectual disabilities and respect them.
Teaching important and difficult points:
1.words: adult, intellectual , disability ,similar, gold ,silver, event, task, background, confident, coach, achieve
2.phrases: children and adult with intellectual disabilities , events similar to…, have a chance to show their skills to the world
3.sentences: It’s great for us to work closely with these special athletes.
It’s brave of these children with intellectual disabilities to join the competition.

Procedures:
Activity one: Pre-reading
(watch a video to learn new words & phrases)o
T: Let’s watch a video first . Remember your task while watching.

What does she want to get in the game?
What’s the aim of the game?
