Step I呈现
l教师播放电影《格列佛游记》中和课文有关的片段, 让学生对故事有一个直观的认识。播放结束后, 教师就故事情节提问, 在学生回答时引出本课时需要讲解的语言点并板书, 如:by the time、be tired out、be tied to、look down、the same size as、fall over, continue doing sth, begin doing/to do, manage to do sth, a huge army of、run away、get away。
2教师解释课文中出现的重点和难点内容。

StepII操练

1教师说:At the end of the extract, Gulliver saw a huge army of tiny people coming towards him. What will the tiny people probably do? Can Gulliver get away? Do you want to know more about Gulliver’s adventure? Use your imagination and tell the rest of the story.
2在基础较好的班级, 教师可以让学生课后续写故事, 然后互相交流;在基础较弱的班级, 教师可以让学生课后阅读《格列佛游记》, 了解故事的结局。
