《LESSON 8》教学设计
The main topic in this lesson is knowing seven o’clock and asking and answering the time that someone wake up.
【知识与能力目标】
(1)Be able to listen, speak, read, write words :o’clock, when.
(2)Be able to understand, speak phrase :wake up.
(3)Be able to understand, speak sentence :When do you wake up?/ I wake up at…o’clock/what time is it?”

(1)Understand the two dialogues and use them flexibly in the situation.
(2)Be able to relate to life realities, describe time in English.

(1)Connect English with life, feel the application..
(2)Enjoy the fun of learning English.
【教学重点】
(1) Key vocabulary :o’clock, when,wake up.
(2) Key sentence :When do you wake up? I wake up at...
(3) Key sentence :what time is it? It’s ....o’clock.

(1)Skillfully using sentence: When do you wake up?
(2)The pronunciation and spell of o’clock.
Tape recorder, a big clock,cards, Multimedia
Step 1:Warm-up
1.The teacher and students greet each other in English.
2.The teacher leads students to a new different unite.
3.The teacher shows a big alarm clock to arouse the student's curiosity.
Step 2: presentation
1.Lead-in.
(1)Show some pictures of clocks, ask students to say the times, lead out the new phrase:
six o’clock.Lead students to say :It’s six o’clock.
(2)Ask students to look at the screen and listen the tinkle of the clock, lead out the new phrase: wake up.
2.Learn it.
(1)Lead students to say :It’s six o’clock.
(2)To points at the clock and tells students: I wake up at six o’clock, ask one student: When do you wake up? Lead him to look at the clock and say : I wake up at seven o’clock.
3.Work in pairs.
Students will be divided into a set of two people to finish a dialogue.
(1) Give students several minutes to work in pairs .
(2) Ask pairs of students to act the dialog in this part .
Student A:Wake up, Betty.
Student B:OK.
Student A:When do you wake up?
Student B:I wake up at six o’clock.
(3)Students will be divided into a set of two people to finish a dialogue.
4.Listen and number.
According to the textbook exercise, there are six small picture in the textbook.
(1)The teacher plays the recording。
(2)Students listen to the tape carefully and select the corresponding number.
(3)Present the correct answer through PPT.
(4)Then teacher replays the tape, students read follow her.
5.Ask and answer.
There are three different o’clock that point to different times.
(1)Student A ask “What time is it?”
(2)Another student answers that: “It’s xix/seven/eight o’clock”
6.Let’s sing!
Six o’clock. Six o’clock.
Wake up,Betty. Wake up,Betty.
Six o’clock. Six o’clock.
I Wake up at six o’clock.
