Paul Lacy and his wife Drthy Lacy are Americans. They are in their seventies. They have an embridery wrkshp (刺绣工厂)in Hunan.
The first time Drthy went t Fenghuang was n a trip in 1999, and she fell in lve with the ld twn and the Mia culture. In the fllwing year, Paul and Drthy decided t d smething. With the help f a Chinese friend, the Lacys had their embridery wrkshp in Fenghuang fur years later.
After Paul and Drthy sld their things in America in 2006, the Lacys started t live in Fenghuang. At first, the Lacys had a hard time because f the language. When they went shpping, they had t shw the sellers pictures f what they wanted. As time went by, they made friends with the Mia peple living there.
Befre they lived in Fenghuang, the tw went t many places f China. Fr example, they traveled t cities, such as Beijing, Xi’an and Guiyang. “Amng all thse places, we like Fenghuang best because f its beautiful and quiet envirnment and the rich culture f the Mia peple. What’s mre, Drthy thinks that the clthes f the Mia peple are really beautiful. But it is the kindness f the peple here that attracts (吸引）us the mst. S we decided t live here,” Paul said.
