Althugh bmbed t near destructin by Adlf Hitler’s frces in the 1940s, the city was rebuilt, stne by stne. What yu see arund yu in the end f Catherine the Great’s rule in 1796 when, after nearly a century, Peter’s city was ne f the finest in the wrld.
