These d nt shw symptms, but they culd affect vitality. Older, larger apple trees were better at shrugging ff the viruses.

Mr. Baugher fund sme relief in the Tree Assistance Prgramme, thrugh which the federal gvernment prvides financial assistance t rchard-wners whse trees are damaged by natural disasters. The sudden death f apple trees may nt seem as dramatic as a hurricane, but it is perhaps even mre dangerus. Americans have given cnsiderably mre befre in the defense f apple pie.

A. particularly尤其;B. relevantly相关地;C. intentinally有意地;D. ptentially有可能地。

    。 A. estimates估计;B. subjects主题;C. measurements测量数据;D. patents专利。
A. displayed展示;B. identified识别,鉴定;C. justified证明合法;D.
A. behavir行为;B. habitat栖息地;C. manner方式、礼仪;D. mtin运
第8空所在的句子"and satellite bservatins ften cannt accurately capture the mtin f small ice

A. internally内部地;B. accurately精确地;C. securely安全地;D. independently独立地。

Over the curse f several mnths the mdel culd drift away frm

culd underestimate drift speeds"和"it is a gd thing. 故选A项。

A. reverse逆转;B. resemble类似,像;C.

She came up with the term"RAD". But her attempts t explain it have nt prduced much fruit. The

indicated by a depressin f tw inches in the barmetric(气压的)clumn.
    hundred feet可与B选项中At this height相对应。
,故选B.(2)根据上文中“The inhabitants f the island lked n larger than insects. The laughing and shuting were little by little lst in the
distance, and nly the discharge f the ship's guns culd be heard beneath the balln(岛上的居民看起来和昆虫差不多大。
The ship Reslute lked like a mere seashell, and the African cast culd be distinctly seen in the west marked ut by
    a margin f fam.
故D选项“后来人们发现它刚好经过Mrima村,这是非洲东海岸这部分地区的名字”符合语境,故选D.(4)根据上文“The Victria passed near t a village which the dctr fund marked upn his chart as Kale.

    。A选项中Its指代Kale.
