I was mved by her tears.
I tried t remember her kind wrds frm times past when I’d skinned knees r cut myself, times when she knew just the right thing t say.

The rising csts f health care have becme a prblem fr many cuntries in the wrld. T deal with this prblem, it is recmmended that a big part f the gvernment's health budget be used fr health educatin and disease preventin instead f treatment. Actually, many kinds f diseases are preventable in many ways and preventing a disease is usually much cheaper than treating it. Fr example, peple culd avid catching a cld if they dressed warmly when the weather starts getting cld. But many peple get sick because they fail t d s, and have t spend mney seeing a dctr.
Daily habits like eating mre healthy fd wuld have kept millins f families frm becming bankrupt if the patients had taken measures fr early preventin. Fr instance, keeping a balanced diet, such as nt cnsuming t much animal fat and insuring a steady intake f vegetables and fruits, seems t be quite imprtant.
One very effective and cstless way f preventin is regular exercise, which is necessary fr a healthy mind and bdy. Regular exercise, such as running, walking, and playing sprts is a gd way t make peple feel better r reduce stress.
In additin, health educatin plays a key rle in imprving peple's health. By giving peple mre infrmatin abut health, cuntries culd help peple understand the imprtance f disease preventin and ways t achieve it. Fr example, knwing ne's family medical histry is an effective way t help keep healthy. Infrmatin abut health prblems amng clse relatives will make them aware f what they shuld d t prevent certain diseases thrugh lifestyle changes, which will wrk befre it is t late.
Hwever, stressing disease preventin des nt mean medical treatment is unimprtant. After all, preventin and treatment are just tw different means tward the same effect. In cnclusin, we culd save mney n health care and treat patients mre successfully if ur cuntry spends mre mney n health preventin and educatin.

An early inventin by Albert Einstein has been rebuilt by scientists at Oxfrd University. They are trying t develp an envirnmentally friendly refrigeratr that runs withut electricity.
We all knw that mdern fridges cause damage t the envirnment. They wrk by using a kind f man-made greenhuse gas called Fren, which is far mre damaging than carbn dixide.
Nw Malclm McCullch, an electrical engineer at Oxfrd, is leading a three-year prject t develp appliances that can be used in places withut electricity.
His team has cmpleted a mdel machine f a fridge patented in 1930 by Einstein. It used nly pressurized gases t keep things cld. The design was partly used in the first refrigeratrs, but the technlgy was drpped when mre efficient cmpressrs (压缩机) became ppular in the 1950s. That meant a switch t using Fren.
Einstein’s idea uses butane (a gas) and water and takes advantage f the fact that liquids bil at lwer temperatures, when the air pressure arund them is lwer.
“If yu g t the tp f Munt Qmlangma, water bils at a much lwer temperature than it des when yu’re at sea level and that’s because the pressure is much lwer up there,” said McCullch.
At ne side is the evapratr (蒸发器), a bttle that cntains liquid butane. “If yu intrduce a new vapr abve the butane, the liquid biling temperature decreases and, as it bils ff, it takes energy frm the surrundings t d s,” says McCullch. “That’s what makes it cld.”
The gas fridges based n Einstein’s design were replaced by Fren-cmpressr fridges partly because Einstein’s design was nt very efficient. But McCullch thinks that by changing the design and replacing the types f gases used it will be pssible t greatly increase the efficiency.
Hwever, McCullch’s fridge is still in its early stages. “It’s very much a mdel machine,” he said. “Give us anther mnth and we’ll have it wrking.”
    57. Accrding t the passage, an early inventin by Albert Einstein _______.
    A. has been rediscvered because it csts much less and wrks mre efficiently
    B. is being redesigned because it culd be used in places withut electricity

    D. will be fully made use f and becme the fridge f the future
    58. Which f the fllwing is TRUE accrding t the text?

    C. McCullch thinks he culd imprve Einstein’s design by using ther types f vaprs.
    D. The fridge that Malclm McCullch and his team designed will be put int prductin sn.
