Scial media is taking ver ur lives: Facebk, Instagram, Twitter and nw, TikTk. These scial media platfrms have transfrmed frm a way t stay cnnected t an industry where even kids can make mney ff their psts. While this may seem like anther pprtunistic(机会主义) innvatin, it’s really full f hidden false realities.
The median incme(中位收入) recrded in the United States f America was abut $63,000 in 2018. TikTkers can make anywhere frm $50,000 t $150,000 fr a TikTk brand partnership, and TikTkers with ver a millin fllwers can make up t $30,000 a mnth—$360,000 a year. They are making mre than the average persn trying t feed their family and keep a rf ver their heads, simply by psting a 15-secnd vide.
This is mad in mre ways than ne. Nt nly is it an verpaid “jb” it prmtes undeserved admiratin frm viewers and a false sense f reality. Many f these famus TikTkers are still teens, and the effects f fame at such an early stage in life might cause issues later in life, such as mental illness. Teens between the ages f 13 and 17 make up 27% f TikTk viewers, wh can be easily influenced by what they are watching. They can put a false sense f self-value int wh they lk up t and what they represent: mney, fame, being cnsidered cnventinally attractive.
While TikTk has becme a great tl fr marketing, it’s imprtant t understand hw this cntent affects yung viewers. If we’re cnstantly cnsuming cntent that shws us all we need t d t be successful is be cnventinally attractive and pst a 15-secnd vide featuring a new dance, it will challenge ur knwledge f what really makes smene successful and will in turn affect ur individual wrk ethics(伦理). What abut the peple wh miss birthday and family hlidays due t their jbs and aren’t getting paid nearly as much as these TikTkers?
Richard Clyer, president and creatr f Metaphr, Inc, had his wn view n this issue. “It sunds great t make mney fr ding the latest dance mves in a 15-secnd vide, but we shuld feed the minds f kids and nt just their bank accunts. TikTk can be great if used prperly. Mney alne is nt gd, technlgy alne is nt gd and cnnectedness can be bad if it’s nly nline.”
Again, as a fellw cnsumer f TikTk, I d enjy the app when I have sme time t kill and need a gd laugh. I’ m nt against smene making a living n entertainment, but what des getting famus f a 15-secnd vide teach yung peple?

    A. Scial netwrking.B. Making mney n scial media.

    A. TikTkers are earning mney easily.
    B. All TikTkers are richer than average peple.
    C. Mst TikTkers can becme millinaires vernight.
    D. TikTkers earn much mre than rdinary wrkers.
    30. Which is the pssible influence f TikTk n its yung users?
    A. They tend t live an adult life t sn.
    B. They are frced t pay fr certain services.
    C. They may abandn ther scial media.
    D. They are likely t develp false value.
    31. What can we infer frm Richard Clyer’s cmments?
    A. TikTk can be a psitive influence if teens emply it wisely.
    B. Yung TikTkers shuld be banned frm making mney.
    C. It is better t invlve educatin n investment in TikTk vides.
    D. Cntents f vides need checking befre their release nline.
    D

T test this, the Chalmers researchers made a kind f bichip (生物芯片) n which they grew skin cells. They then made small wunds in the artificial skin and tested hw fast the wund healing happened when they either passed electricity thrugh the chip r did nt. The results shwed the healing prcess happening three times faster in the presence f electricity.
The scientists will nw receive funds t cntinue their research beynd the lab. “At the mment we are investigating hw different skin cells react t electrical stimulatin t find ut what wuld crrespnd t (匹配) realistic wunds,” says Asplund. “We aim t develp a cncept that allws us t examine wunds and persnalize the electrical stimulatin t individual wund types. We are cnvinced that this is the way t help peple with slw-healing wunds.”
    32. Wh will mst benefit frm the new technlgy?
    A. Peple with high bld sugar.B. Peple wh have heart attack.
    C. Peple wh get wunded easily.D. Peple with high bld pressure.

    C. Effrts t find ut whether electricity can speed up wund healing.
    D. Benefits f adpting advanced technlgy in the bichip experiment.
    34. What des Asplund think f wund healing with electricity?

    A. Electricity Cures Slw-healing Wunds
    B. New Weapn Helps Patients with Diabetics
