The new study is based n data frm China’s Zhurng rver (“祝融号”火星车), part f the Tianwen-1 missin that tuched dwn n the surface f
Mars in May 2021. In particular, the scientists used data the rver gathered during its first 92 Martian days, at its landing site in Utpia Planitia. Yang Liu,
a researcher frm the Chinese Academy f Sciences(CAS), and his clleagues analyzed data frm three different instruments n Zhurng. Thse
instruments studied minerals that suggest the presence f a large quantity f liquid water at the site abut 700 millin years ag, which scientists
previusly thught was dry.
“This is a very interesting result. We have very little recrded evidence f yung liquid water systems n Mars. And fr the nes we have, they were
