The hill features a cmplex pattern f zigzagging terraces(之字形梯田) f planted beds, leading all the way dwn t the bttm. When rainwater hits the rf, it flws dwn the zigzags while being absrbed by the sil in the beds. The excess water is directed int fur strage pnds—with a capacity f up t 3 millin gallns. The prcess slws dwn the flw speed f rainwater runff cmpared t a nrmal cncrete rftp. This keeps the area frm flding during heavy rains.
The rf’s terraces are filled with rganically grwn crps, including a drught tlerant variety f rice, many lcal vegetables and herbs. The farm can supply the canteens n campus with a large amunt f rice, herbs and vegetables a year. The fd waste is cmpsted (把……制成堆肥) t make the sil f the farm richer, and water frm the strage pnds is used t water plants, creating an entirely lcalized and circular system.

Parenting rles evlve frm the full cntrl and safekeeping f a yung baby t the delicate dance between independence and guidance in adlescence (青春期). Eventually, ur children becme adults, and if we are lucky, we will have lifelng friendships with them.
Play is a key element f friendship with children. With babies and very yung children, we play with them, engaging in back-and-frth activities. They ften start the game, and we jin in. They pull us int play, and we lve it. In the language f experts wh research children frm birth t 3 years ld, we express delight in these interactins. But delight ften hits a snag when ur children learn hw t say “n”. Frm this pint nward—int adlescence—we fcus n getting children t behave. We tend t be the parent, nt the friend, ften saying “because I said s”. Highlighting ur rle as taskmasters limits ur parenting tls. If we can leave time and space fr child-driven play and activities—withut adult demands r expectatins—we can return t delight. These friendly interactins expand ur relatinship with ur children. It’s nt the same as peer friendship, but we are being friends.
Beynd play, the ther fundatinal cmpnent f parent friendship is the child-directed cnversatin. Maintaining a friendly, nn-judgmental standpint in cnversatin with yur kids can prvide yu with a wrld f trust and engagement. Being quiet and nt saying anything are undervalued parenting tls. Instead, we can keep ur ears pen fr infrmal chatter and then listen with intentin and presence. And it’s usually best if we dn’t ffer ad vice unless asked fr it. Being curius and cmpassinate and listening deeply t their stries and wrries build emtinal bnds, maintain cmmunicatin, and prduce trust, which sunds like friendship.
In my experience as a child, a parent, and a child psychiatrist, I think we can be mre than cmmand-and-cntrl. And I firmly believe that we can treat children with affectin and respect, as cmpanins.
32.What des the underlined wrd “snag” in paragraph 2 mean?
    A.Misjudgement.B.Demand.C.Challenge.D.Respnse.
    33.What is a parent advised t d in a child-directed cnversatin?
    A.Be a deep listener.B.Start the tpic f a talk.
C.Never make any cmments.D.Avid any infrmal chatter.
34.What is the authr’s attitude twards develping cmpaninship with children?
    A.Dubtful.B.Apprving.C.Unclear.D.Negative.
35.What is the suitable title fr the text?
    A.Parent-child Friendship BndsB.Lifelng Parent-child Relatinship
    C.Fundamental Elements f FriendshipD.Parenting Rles in Children’s Grwth
