In the study, researchers interviewed mre than 100,000 peple frm Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia and Xinjiang in nrthwest China. The participants（参加者）were between the ages f 35 and 74．They prvided infrmatin abut their medical recrds and lifestyles, such as the smking habit and physical activity.
