形容词（Adjectives）
形容词的作用
作定语 e.g. English is a useful language.
作表语 e.g. The little girl is lvely.
【注】 = 1 \* alphabetic a.大多数形容词即可作定语又可作表语，但有少数形容词只能作表语，不能作定语，如：alive，asleep，alne，awake，afraid，unable等。如只能说living peple，不能说alive peple
= 2 \* alphabetic b．有些形容词只能作定语，不能作表语。如：many，little，wden，glden等。
如：这是个木制的盒子：可以说This is a wden bx. 不能说 This bx is wden.
作宾语补足语 e.g. We shuld keep ur wrking rm clean.
“the+定冠词”结构
有些形容词前面加上定冠词the，相当于名词，表示一类人或事物，其谓语动词常用复数，表示抽象概念时，其谓语动词用单数，在句中可作主语、表语或宾语。
e.g. The ld and the sick like a quiet place.（作主语）
The new is nt always the best.（作主语、表语）
They are ging t build a schl fr the blind, the deaf and the dumb.（作宾语）
形容词的位置
形容词修饰名词作定语时一般放在它所修饰的名词之前 e.g. a beautiful flwer
与不定代词smething，anything，everything，nthing等连用时，须放在这些词的后面
e.g. It’s nthing serius.
与表示度量的词连用，形容词要放在它所修饰词语的后面
e.g. He can swim acrss a river 200 meters wide.
由and或r所连接的两个形容词通常放在被修饰的名词之后，其强调修饰作用
e.g. Everyne, yung r ld, has his wn strng pint and weak pint.
有两个或两个以上的形容词修饰同一个名词时，形容词排列的一般顺序
= 1 \* GB3 ①音节较短的形容词放在音节较长的形容词前 e.g. a rainy, windy and unpleasant day
= 2 \* GB3 ②与被修饰名词关系较密切的形容词靠近该名词
e.g. a great mdern scialist cuntry一个伟大的现代化社会主义国家
= 3 \* GB3 ③当冠词、代词、形容词、名词和分词同时修饰一个名词时，句子中的各种形容词的位置要由它们和被修饰名词的关系密切程度而定。关系最密切的最靠近名词，反而反之。从近到远的顺序依次是： = 1 \* GB2 ⑴名词或分词， = 2 \* GB2 ⑵颜色， = 3 \* GB2 ⑶大小，长短，较重，形状， = 4 \* GB2 ⑷性质， = 5 \* GB2 ⑸冠词或代词

形容词的比较级和最高级
比较等级的构成
= 1 \* GB3 ①规则构成
形容词的比较级和最高级的构成有两种形式：词尾加-er，est；在词前加mre，mst。采用何种形式，要看单词的音节多少和词尾的构成形式，详见下表：
= 2 \* GB3 ②比较等级的不规则构成

【注】 = 1 \* alphabetic a.少数单音节词，如pleased，glad，tired，fnd等，也可以在其前面加mre，mst构成比较级和最高级
= 2 \* alphabetic b.less，least也可用来构成比较级和最高级，其意思和mre，mst相反
比较等级的用法
= 1 \* GB3 ①原级间比较的句型
= 1 \* ALPHABETIC A.表示比较的双方相等时用as…as结构，即：主语+谓语（系动词）+as+形容词原级+as
e.g. This jacket is as cheap as that ne.这件夹克衫和那一件同样便宜。
= 2 \* ALPHABETIC B.表示比较双方不相等时，用nt s(as)…as，即：主语+谓语（系动词）+nt s(as)+形容词原级+as
e.g. It isn’t as cld as yesterday.今天没有昨天那么冷。
= 2 \* GB3 ②比较级和最高级的用法
两个人或两个事物进行比较时用比较级，其结构是：主语+谓语（系动词）+形容词比较级+than+比较对象
e.g. I have tw pencils. The red ne is lnger than the black ne.
= 3 \* GB3 ③使用形容词比较级时应注意的问题
= 1 \* ALPHABETIC A.形容词比较级前可加much，even，still，a lt，far，a bit，a little，any之类表示程度的状语
e.g. Yur English is much better than mine.
= 2 \* ALPHABETIC B.有时形容词比较级后面不用than，所比较的另一方省略
e.g. Be mre careful next time.
= 3 \* ALPHABETIC C.表示“两者之间较…”可用“the+形容词比较级+f the tw”
e.g. He is the strnger f the tw.
= 4 \* ALPHABETIC D.elder与eldest仅表示家庭成员中的年长；lder与ldest则表示“旧”，“年老”
e.g. My elder sister left fr New Yrk last mnth.
Mr. Li is the ldest cmrade in ur ffice.
= 5 \* ALPHABETIC E.比较级+and+比较级，表示“越来越…”
e.g. The stry gets mre and mre exciting.
= 6 \* ALPHABETIC F.the+比较级+…the+比较级，表示“越…越…”
e.g. The mre he has, the mre he wants.
= 7 \* ALPHABETIC G.三者或三者以上的人或物进行比较时用形容词最高级。形容词最高级前要加定冠词the，后面跟f词组或in词组，说明比较范围。其结构是：主语+谓语（系动词）+the形容词最高级+（名词）+比较范围（f词组或in词组）。 e.g. Jim is the tallest f the three.
【注】 = 1 \* alphabetic a.形容词最高级可作表语，这时定冠词the可以省略
e.g. I think her plan is best.
= 2 \* alphabetic b.形容词最高级前可以加a或不定冠词来表示“非常”

副词的分类
副词按其语法作用可分为四类
疑问副词：when，where，why，hw用来构成疑问句
连接副词：when，where，why，hw用来引导宾语从句、主语从句、表语从句和同位语从句
关系副词：when，where，why用来引导定语从句，并在从句中作状语
普通副词，就是除上述三种之外的其他副词
副词按其词义可分为四类
时间副词 如：then，later，ag，recently，always，ften，ever，never，usually，smetimes，seldm，already，sn，finally，nce，yet，early，just nw，at nce，right away
地点副词 如：away，abrad，anywhere，everywhere，here，there，hme，ut，back，near

作状语

副词的位置
前位副词
修饰整个句子，表示说话人对所说内容的态度
e.g. Surely he’ll stay fr dinner.
表示确切时间的副词一般位于句末，但也有位于句首

少数表示频度的副词有时用于句首
e.g. Smetimes we’re busy and smetimes we’re nt.
疑问副词用于句首 e.g. Hw are things ging?
中位副词
表示不确切时间的副词和一些频度副词通常用在实义动词前面，情态动词、助动词和be动词的后面
e.g. She suddenly fell ill.\ The meeting is just ver.\ I’ve just returned frm England.
程度副词一般用于它所修饰词的前面
e.g. I dn’t quite agree with yu.
后位副词
表示地点的副词一般用于句末

1) 简单介词 通常指一个单词的介词 如：at，between，in，t等
