In China and abrad, peple smetimes cmmunicate withut speaking. Hw d they d this? They use bdy language. But bdy language is nt the same in all cultures.
The wrld has many different cultures.
In China and sme ther cuntries, friends shake hands t greet each ther. They may be new friends r ld, but they shake hands t shw friendship and trust. In sme Eurpean cuntries, peple kiss each ther n bth cheeks. It’s anther way t shw friendship and lve.
In India, when peple nd their heads, they mean “n”. And when peple shake their heads, they mean “yes”. But in mst ther cuntries, these things mean the ppsite.
A thumbs-up means “kay” r “well dne” in mst cultures. In Australia, hwever, it is nt plite. In Japan, it means “five”, and in Germany, it means “ne”. In mst places, peple pint t things with their fingers. But in sme places, peple pint with their lips. They think it’s rude t pint with a finger.
When Italians wave gdbye, it may lk like “Cme here! ” t Americans. But the American gdbye wave lks like “n” in many parts f Eurpe and Suth America. One bdy language is the same all arund the wrld: a smile. Try it, and yu’ll see!
