Peple like t talk abut “first”.They like t remember their first lve r their first car.But nt all firsts are happy nes.Few peple enjy the firsts that are bad.One f histry’s bad but imprtant firsts was the first car accident.Cars were still yung when it happened.It tk place in New Yrk in May 1896.A man frm Massachusetts was visiting the city in his new car.At that time,bicycle riders were still trying t get used t the new set f wheels n the rad.N ne was sure wh was at fault.Anyway,a bike and the car cllided.The man n the bike was hurt.The driver f the car had t stay in prisn and wait fr the hspital reprt n the bike rider.It was lucky that the bike rider was nt killed.
Three years later,anther car accident tk place.It was again in New Yrk City.A man named Henry Bliss gt ff a street car.He was hit by a passing car.Again,n ne was sure just hw it happened r wh was wrng.The driver f the car was put in prisn.Pr Mr. Bliss became the first persn t die in a car accident.

Their mther is telling them that she lves them and their father lves them,t.But,she and their father are having prblems.They aren’t ging t live tgether as a family any mre.The bys are ging t live with her.They’re ging t stay in the same huse,and g t the same schl.
Nw,the father is telling them that he’s ging t leave the huse this weekend.But he prmises nt t mve that far away.He’s ging t be in the next twn.Tw weekends a mnth,the bys are ging t stay with him.And they’re ging t be with him ne mnth in the summer time.He’ll take his vacatin then and they’ll g t the beach tgether.
Tny and Gerge dn’t really understand what’s happening.They knw that their parents aren’t happy.But they want all f them t stay tgether.
