Tw years ag, frm February 2016 t January 2017, I went n a student exchange prgram t Auckland in New Zealand. I chse t g t New Zealand because firstly, it is a safe cuntry and secndly, I wanted t g t a cuntry that is culturally different frm my wn.
I started cnsidering ging n a student exchange prgram after making a backpack trip arund the wrld when I was a freshman(大 一 新生) at Waseda University. I met s many peple f different backgrunds during my trip. When I was travelling, I realized the imprtance f speaking English. I felt that if I knew English, I culd cmmunicate and make friends with a lt f peple arund the wrld. Then, I made up my mind t wrk bard after cming back frm the trip.
When I was at Auckland University f Technlgy, I mainly tk classes related t language pedaggy (教学法). Unlike at Waseda University, many f the classes at Auckland University f Technlgy were held in small class size, usually a class size f 15 students t a teacher. In additin, rather than ne-way passive learning, students were required t actively raise their pinins and take part in grup discussins in class. The classes were als practical in nature and required a lt f preparatin.
Spending a year studying abrad has made me feel mre cnfident in cmmunicating in English. I was als able t meet peple f different backgrunds thanks t the exchange prgram. Cmparing t the past, I am nw a better listener and als better at vicing my pinins. Studying abrad des nt nly imprve my language skills, but als makes me grw as a persn.

Tw years ag, frm February 2016 t January 2017, I went n a student exchange prgram t Auckland in New Zealand. I chse t g t New Zealand because firstly, it is a safe cuntry and secndly, I wanted t g t a cuntry that is culturally different frm my wn.
I started cnsidering ging n a student exchange prgram after making a backpack trip arund the wrld when I was a freshman(大 一 新生) at Waseda University. I met s many peple f different backgrunds during my trip. When I was travelling, I realized the imprtance f speaking English. I felt that if I knew English, I culd cmmunicate and make friends with a lt f peple arund the wrld. Then, I made up my mind t wrk bard after cming back frm the trip.
When I was at Auckland University f Technlgy, I mainly tk classes related t language pedaggy (教学法). Unlike at Waseda University, many f the classes at Auckland University f Technlgy were held in small class size, usually a class size f 15 students t a teacher. In additin, rather than ne-way passive learning, students were required t actively raise their pinins and take part in grup discussins in class. The classes were als practical in nature and required a lt f preparatin.
Spending a year studying abrad has made me feel mre cnfident in cmmunicating in English. I was als able t meet peple f different backgrunds thanks t the exchange prgram.
