24,000 peple participated (参加) in the study. Arund 30 percent f the participants ften had fewer than three meals a day. Accrding t the data (数据), thse wh were yunger, male, with less f an educatin and a lwer family incme, were mre likely t skip meals. Meal-skipping was als mre cmmn amng thse wh smked mre, drank mre, ate less healthy fd, had mre snacks, and tk in less energy verall.
Cmpared with participants eating three meals per day, the risk fr participants eating ne meal per day was 30% higher fr all-cause death, and 83% higher fr cardivascular(心血管的) disease(CVD) death. Thse wh ate tw meals a day had a 7% increased risk f all-cause death and a 10% increased risk f cardivascular death.
The CVD death rate f the participants wh skipped breakfast was40% higher cmpared with thse wh did nt. The all-cause death risk was 12% higher fr skipping lunch and 16% higher fr skipping dinner cmpared with thse wh did nt. Skipping breakfast was cnnected with a greater risk f dying frm CVD, while skipping lunch r dinner was cnnected with a greater risk f all-cause death, including a rise in CVD risk.
There was even a prblem fr thse wh ate all three meals but had them t clse tgether. Eating tw neighburing meals within 4.5 hurs f each ther was als shwn t be cnnected with increased all-cause death risk.
