There’s a new Al robot: Chat GPT, and you’d better pay attention, even if you aren’t into artificial intelligence (人工智能). The tool is an AI chat robot system that Open AI, a company, invented in November 2022 to show off and test what a very large, powerful AI system can achieve.
Chat GPT remembers the key information of your dialogue, using earlier questions and answers to form its next reply quickly. It gets its answers from plenty of information on the Internet. Chat GPT is built on top of the OpenAI GPT-3 family of large language models and is fine-tuned (a method of exchange learning).
You can ask ChatGPT anything, like explaining physics, asking for birthday party ideas and getting programming (编程) help. Perhaps it’s not smart enough to replace all humans yet, but it can be creative, and its answers can sound pretty excellent. A few days after its use, more than 1 million people were trying out ChatGPT. UBS analyst Lloyd Walmsley said in February 2023 that ChatGPT reached 100 million monthly users in January, realizing in 2 months, while TikTok spent about 9 months and Instagram needed two and a half years.
ChatGPT is free to use at the moment because it is still in its research period. But when too many people use the server (服务器), it can’t process your request. It just means you should try visiting the website at a later time when fewer people are trying to use it. Because of it, on Feb. 1, 2023, OpenAI has a ChatGPT new plan, ChatGPT Plus, which allows users to have better experiences even during the busiest time. This service does come at a cost of
$20/months.

Follow a healthy diet and exercise regularly to stay in good shape. No matter how busy you are, always find at least an hour per day for yourself to relax either by doing absolutely nothing or doing something that you enjoy.
Learn to respect your own boundaries (界线,底线). Find out what your boundaries are and learn to respect them. You are the only one who knows what you can and what you cannot accept. No one else can point that out to you, or force you to compromise (妥协).

The queen was also very elegant (优雅的). Hundreds of the little people worked together to make new clothes for me and they gathered six hundred mattresses (床垫) to make me a bed.
The people of Lilliput called me “Man Mountain” and they came from all over the country to see me. People had to pay to see me and the money made the emperor very rich.
One day the emperor organized a parade for his people. He asked me to stand and his army walked through my legs to make everyone laugh happily. There were thousands of soldiers, some of them on horses. Everyone was happy.
The emperor and his people always treated me well and helped me in many ways. They organized language lessons for me. So gradually I began to understand and communicate with the Lilliputians and learn more about their lives.

六、阅读填空(共20小题;每小题1分,满分20分)
A) 阅读下面短文,根据所读内容,在文章后76-85小题的空格里填入一个最恰当的单词。
注意:每个空格只填1个单词。
In the 1960s, people asked about your astrological sign (星座). In the 2000s, they wanted to know your website. These days, having a web address is almost as important as a street address. Your website is an electronic meeting place for your family, friends and potentially, millions of people around the world. Best of all, you may not have to spend a cent. The Web is filled with all kinds of free services and all it takes is some time and creativity.
Think of your home page as the starting point of your website. Like the table of contents of a book or a magazine, the home page is the front door. Your site can have one or more pages, depending on how you design it.
While web pages vary greatly in their design and content, most use a traditional magazine layout (布局). At the top of the page is a banner (大标题) GRAPHIC. Next comes a greeting and a short description of the site. Pictures, texts, and links to other websites follow.
Before you start building your site, do some planning. Think about whom the site is for and what you want to say. Next, gather up the material that you want to put on the site. Draw a rough layout on a sheet of paper.
While there are no rules you have to follow, there are a few things to keep in mind: START SIMPLY
If you are too ambitious (野心勃勃的) at the beginning, you may never get the site off the ground. You can always add to your site.
LESS IS BETTER
Most people don’t like to read a lot of text online. Break it into small pieces.
SMALLER IS BETTER
Most people connect to the Internet with a modem (调制解调器). Since it can take a long time to download large image files, keep the file sizes small.
HAVE THE RIGHTS
Don’t put any material on your site unless you are sure you can do it legally (合法的).
Now it’s time to roll up your sleeves and start building. Learning the Net Communities provides tools to help you build your site.
Lead-in | Your web address is of the same __________(76) as your street address. It is a meeting place for people around you and all over the world. You don’t need to spend a cent. You only need to have time and be __________(77). | |
