Knowledge aims: Students should master the following words and phrases: fly, high, ago, India, tent, moon, surprise, snake, scared, move, start, jump, wake, fly a kite, into, forest, ear, high school, two weeks ago, go camping, make a fire, put up tents, on the first night, so…that…,see sb.doing sth, get a surprise, shout to, up and down, wake…up.2. Ability aims:  = 1 \* GB2 ⑴Students can talk about their last weekend’s activities.(2) Students should master the past tense.(3)Improve students’ reading skills.Teaching important points 1. The words, phrase and sentences in the passage.2. Guess the meaning of the new words and phrases according to the context. Teaching difficult pointStudents can talk about the past events.Master the phrases. Teaching aidsTape recording and multi-mediaTeaching procedures ProceduresStep 1: Revision Make a conversation. Students ask their partner what they did last weekend.Step 2: PresentationT: (show a picture) Guess, who is she? She is my friend, Her name is Lucy. She is in high school. Look, she got a surprise. Why?Ss: (Help students to answer) Her parents were going to take her to the mountain.T: Lucy was so happy that she jumped up and down.She was so excited that she woke up(醒来)early. It was two weeks ago.T: How did she get there? Can you guess?Ss: She took a bus ride.T: What did she do there?Ss: (Show some pictures to present some phrases, help Ss to answer) She went camping. She put up the tent, made a fire, cook food, tell stories and she also saw some animals running(see sb. doing sth.).T: How was Lusy’s weekend? Do you think?Next, get students to read these phrases aloud, and pay attention the past tenses of the verbsStep 3 : ListT: OK, Lucy went camping two weeks ago ,What did Lucy see?Ss: She saw some animals (running). Ss: What kind of animals are you sometimes afraid of? What kind of animals are people sometimes afraid of? Why? Make a list.Step 4: Fast readingPurposesRevision the conversation we learned.Present the new phrases and the past tenses . Present the passage T: Scan the passage,and answer the two questions.How was Lisa’s weekend? It was interesting but scary.What did she see? She saw a big snake (sleeping near a fire). After reading, check the answer.Step 4: Carefully readingRead and answer the following questions.How was Lisa’s weekend?Where did Lisa and her family go last weekend?How did Lisa feel when she saw the snake?What did Lisa and her sister do?What did her parents do? Why did they do that?What lesson did Lisa learn from the weekend? Read for five minutes, get some students answer the questions.Step 5: Listen, read and Fill in the blankListen and read the passage, pay attention the past tenses of the verbs.After reading, fill in the blank. Get the students check the answers by reading one by one..Step 6: Do 2c Put the phrases in order according to the passage. Check the answer. Af ter that, retell the story.Step 7: Notes Explain the following words and phrases . As a special gift, our parents took us to India.on the first night …We saw a big snake sleeping near the fire. I was so scared that I couldn’t move.Improve the reading skillsConsolidate the past tenses and the phrases filling the blank.Consolidate the reading passage.Solve the difficulties.
