Some of the best cycling routes in the world pass through its most beautiful scenery. Here are some of world's best bike routes for cyclists who either are up for breaking a good sweat or simply seeing the world without leaving an ugly carbon footprint behind.
The Great Windy Road, Victoria, Australia
If you like a challenge, take on this 243-kilometer windy road along Australia’s south-eastern coast. If a day is all you've got, take the 60-kilometer route from Torquay to Bells Beach. There you'll cycle through rural farmland, enjoy the sweeping ocean views from cliff tops, and snake past the wetlands around Lake Connewarre.

    The Karakoram Highway, China-Pakistan
The Karakoram Highway is the highest international road in the world, reaching an altitude of 4,700 meters at the Khunjerab Pass. Starting in Kashgar, China, cyclists can travel up to 1,200 kilometers on mostly unpaved roads, but the views are as breathtaking as the riding.
Route of the Hiawatha, Idaho-Montana, United States
Take your family out to Montana this summer and cycle along the most scenic disused railroad in the country. The railroad turned bike trail turns into 24 kilometers of leisure biking that takes you over seven trestles(高架桥) and through 10 tunnels, with the longest one, the Taft Tunnel, stretching for 2.7 kilometers.

Like everybody else, I was addicted to my devices. When realizing its harm, I decided to make a change.
“I’m doing Tech-Free Sundays now!”I told my mother, on the Saturday night before my no-techjourney started.“Oh,” she said.“So are you giving up, like, the wheel?” I defined my terms. No: computer, phone, iPad. No: email, Twitter, Instagram. Yes: wheels, modern medicine.
But when I woke up in the morning, I failed. The problem was my work: I needed to meet a deadline. I thought I could just use the computer for work, and wouldn't check Twitter. And I didn't, for many hours. And then I did. It was right there! And though I checked it very briefly, just in case anyone was mad at me, the spell (咒语) was broken.
But the beautiful thing about Sundays is that there is always another one. The next week, I changed my approach: no tech, at all. This time, I was prepared. On Saturday, I made a list of everything I wanted to accomplish over the weekend, and then worked my way through all the parts that require technology. And then I put my phone down, and when I woke up on Tech-Free Sunday, I did not pick it up again.
Instead, I finish a book—one with paper!Do you know how pleasurable it is to read a book by touching it? It is a delight, like petting a very literary cat. However, the trouble came when I went to meet a friend. I was running late, but had no way to tell her because my phone was at home.
Was I relaxed on such a Sunday? It was an unfamiliar feeling, but I was. I felt a sense of control over my life. But because life is nothing if not a learning process, the next weekend, I told everyone who might need to get in touch with me that I would not be reachable on Sunday.
    24. What can we infer from the author's conversation with her mother?
    A. The author's mother was unfamiliar with technological terms.
    B. The author wouldn't refuse all modern technology.
    C. The author wouldn't drive on Tech-Free Sundays.
    D. The author's mother agreed with her decision.
    25. What happened on the first Tech-Free Sunday?
    A. The author went against her original wish. B. The author got her computer checked.
    C. The author got annoyed by others. D. The author broke a spell happily.
    26. How did the author feel about her Tech-Free decision finally?
    A. Disappointed. B. Hesitant. C. Satisfied. D. Tired.
27.What can be the best title for the text?
    A.“Tech-Free Sundays” Become Popular
    B. Being Addicted to Devices Is Harmful
C.I Tried Going Tech-Free on Sundays
D.I Realized the Harm of Devices
    C
Barcelona's opera house has celebrated its reopening to the public since the coronavirus pandemic(新冠疫情)put the world into a huge horror, but the opening night had an unusual audience. For its first concert, the theater refused the usual crowd of people and instead packed the house with plants.Yes,that's correct. All 2,292 seats at the Gran Teatre del Liceu were occupied by green plants.
These lucky ficus trees, palms, and Swiss cheese plants-which were brought in by local nurseries(苗圃)-got the pleasure of hearing Puccini's Crisantemi performed by the UceLi Quartet string musical group. Though the guest list was strictly limited to plants, humans still enjoyed the event as the concert was broadcast live on the theater's website.
The idea was put forward by the artist Eugenio Ampudia. He hoped that his idea and the work would inspire people to think more deeply about their relationship with nature and the idea of sustainability. “We are at the end of an era and that means that we have to change certain patterns,”he shared.“The world we live in now is not the same as that of 90 days ago, and this means we have to reflect on everything that we do."
As plants can respond to different vibrations(震动)caused by music, they certainly weren't a passive audience-even if they weren't able to give applause. When the concert was over, each plant was given to a different front-line health care worker who helped guide the country through its battle with the coronavirus.
The moving concert is a continuation of the Liceu's task to create a dialogue between music and the visual arts. Pictures and a video of the performance taken by Ampudia will become part of “la Caixa”Collection of Contemporary Art.
28.What was the special part of the concert?
    A.It had only 2,292 seats.

C.Artist Eugenio Ampudia wanted to change the way he grew the plants.

30.Which statement may Eugenio Ampudia agree with?
A.The plants should have the equal rights.

c.We don't do very well in dealing with nature.
D.Plants contribute to defeating the coronavirus.
31.In which part of a magazine can this article be read?

For most people, the thought of having to watch themselves work out is not an attractive one.Yet as any gym-goer knows, there are always some people who like to enjoy their reflection in the floor-length mirrors. It is perhaps these particular keep-fit lovers who are most excited about the latest trend in home exercise-smart fitness mirrors.
These are 180cm or so tall, high-tech mirrors that have a computer which is connected to the Internet, and also work as a video screen. The idea is that people contact an online trainer, who then appears in the mirror along with their reflection.
On the more advanced devices the mirror is equipped with cameras, speakers and numerous sensors(传感器)connected to AI,so the trainer can watch people's movements, and provide improvements and changes. On the simpler mirrors the video and sound are just one-way-people can see and hear the trainer, but not the other way around. Lessons are typically not live; instead, people just get into a library of online workout videos.
But is there any actual advantage in being able to watch yourself work out? Colleen Logan, the US owner of both Nordic Track and ProForm, says, “Seeing themselves in the mirror allows the users to correct their form or position, so they get the best possible benefits of strength exercises and reduce mistakes that could lead to injuries”.
However,Dr Anthony Papathomas, a sports and fitness psychologist says there is value to this argument, but that he also has some concerns. He said,“How people who are not confident about their body image feel about the mirror gets me in a fret. It may be a problem for those new to exercise and looking to make a lifestyle change. Even for regular exercisers, there are many who experience body dysmorphia(变形)or eating disorders, and for them, seeing a reflection throughout their exercise might be troubling.”
    32. What does paragraph 2 mainly tell us about smart fitness mirrors?
    A.Their target users.
    B. Their wide popularity.
    C.Their basic functions.
    D.Their complex structure.
33.What can be the benefit for exercisers from simpler fitness mirrors?
    A.Having live workout lessons.
    B.Exercising with other partners.
    C.Taking advantage of workout videos.
D.Learning from some trainers at once.
34.What does Logan think of the mirror?
    A. It makes mistakes sometimes.
    B. It could bring injuries to its users.
C.It is necessary for strength exercises.
D.It helps users exercise more properly.
    35. Which of the following best explains “in a fret” underlined in the last paragraph?
    A. Excited. B.Worried. C.Satisfied. D.Shocked.
    第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
    阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
As a student, you have a lot of freedom when it comes to how you spend your time. But with that freedom comes the responsibility to make the most of your studying hours. Here are some tips to help you do just that.
    Create a schedule
This means setting aside specific times for studying each day and then sticking to that schedule as closely as possible. Of course, there will be days when things come up, and you have to deviate(偏离)'from your plan.36
Break up your study sessions into smaller periods
Our brain can't focus effectively for a long time. If you try to study for several hours once, chances are much higher that you won't remember all of the information you're trying to learn. 37
Find a study place that works for you
38 Some people prefer to study in complete silence, while others find that some background noise helps them focus better. There is no right or wrong answer here -it's all about finding a place to study that allows you to work as efficiently as possible.
    39
This will not only help you check your understanding of the concepts but also identify any area that may need more review. And once you know what specific topics or ideas you need to work on, it will be much easier for you to direct your study sessions accordingly and make better use of your time overall.
Don't be afraid to ask for help
If you find that you' re struggling to understand the material or just not making progress as quickly as you'd like, seek assistance in time. 40 In fact, it can save lots of time in the long run by getting you the support you need.
A.Instead, divide your study sessions up into shorter periods to help you relax and recharge.
B.Where you study can also affect how effectively you use your time.
C.However, try not to go off-track too often or for too long.
    D. Make sure that every minute you spend studying counts.
    E. There is no shame in admitting that you need assistance.
    F.Learn to accept failure
    G.Take relevant tests

    第二节(满分25分)
    阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
It was just another busy day until I met the boy on the bus. He was not a passenger like me.He was, what we call a street child, an 8-10-year old kid with a worn T-shirt. These poorly dressed kids were seen almost everywhere in Dhaka city. But what was special about that boy was his face. There was“something” in him that caught my attention. That was an angelic(天使般的)baby face with little care.
He got straight into the bus as it stopped at a traffic light. The bus helper shouted at him in the first place. But instead of talking back, the boy kept silent and started handing out a piece of paper to all the passengers. What was written in the paper was, in short, that his father died a couple of years ago.His mother worked at houses. He badly needed money to help his family, so he wished someone warm-heart-ed to buy chocolates from him.
This was nothing new to people who took a bus every day and I was no different. I had my ear phones on,listening to some relaxing music to kill time. When he came to me to get the paper back, I casually(随意地)gave him some money.Thankfully it brought some smiles on his.face. He was about to give me ten chocolates in return for the money I gave to him when I stopped him.
“I don't like chocolates, brother. So there is no need of chocolates. You can have the money,”I said.
All of a sudden, the smile on his face disappeared.
“I' m not a beggar. Please take the chocolate, or take your money back.”
His straight answer greatly surprised me. I even felt he was slightly angry. I had given money to many kids before, without taking their chocolates. But this time something seemed different. I realized his angel-ic baby face was not the only thing special about him.
    注意:
    1.续写词数应为150左右;
    2.续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好。
The boy put ten chocolates on my seat and got off the bus.

Having got the boy's name, I decided to help him.
