一、教学目标

1. 掌握本课重点词汇和短语：wild, free, dish, pity, die, giant panda, no way, have/take pity on,

in fact

2. 掌握本课重点句型：

They may become dishes on the table any time.

Could you please not eat them?

I may die without them.
3. 通过听，获取 Eddie对野生动物的态度和看法，以及Millie和同学们最喜欢的野生动物以及原因。

4. 能用英语针对自己喜欢的野生动物开展问答活动。

5. 培养学生热爱野生动物的情感。

三、教学过程

Task 1

Step 1 Warming-up
1. Look at the pictures of animals and try to know that wild animals live in the wild.

2. Look at the picture of Eddie and think about the question.

Is Eddie a wild animal?

【设计意图】通过展示野生动物的照片，将学生快速引入本课话题。然后通过Eddie引出他不是野生动物，而是宠物这一事实，引导学生区分野生动物和家养宠物的区别。

Step 2 Presentation

1. Listen to the dialogue and answer the questions.

(1) Would Eddie like to live in the wild? Why?

(2) Will Eddie eat the wild animal? Why or why not?

【设计意图】通过听录音回答问题，帮助学生获取Eddie对于野生动物的看法，以及对于吃野生动物的态度。

2. Read the dialogue and fill in the blanks.  

【设计意图】通过根据对话内容填空，帮助学生加深对对话内容的理解。

Step 3 Practice

1. Listen and repeat the conversation.

2. Role-play the dialogue in pairs.

【设计意图】通过听读活动，为学生学习语音知识做好保障，逐渐培养学生听音、纠音和模仿的能力。通过角色扮演，帮助学生巩固所学语言和内容，检测其学习成果。

Step 4 Extension

Discuss the following questions.

1. Do you have pity on the wild animals?

2. Will you eat animals? Why?

Step 1 Presentation
1. Look at the picture and get to know the wild animals.

2. Look at the pictures of animals and learn the new words.

3. Write the correct names under the pictures.

4. Play a guessing game.

Read the conversation and then act it out in pairs.

Step 3 Production

Talk about the wild animals they like best in groups, using the dialogue below as a model.

A: What wild animal do you like best? Why?

B: I like … best. Because they are … What about you?
