A  month  before my first marathon， I hurt one of my ankles  and this meant not

running for two weeks， leaving me only two weeks to train. Yet， I decided to go ahead.

I remember back to my 7th year in school. In my first P.E. class, the teacher asked us to run

and then hit a softball. I didn’t do either well. He later told me that I was "not an athlete.

In sunny California , Craig Rogers was sitting on his surfboard. His board suddenly stopped moving. He looked down and saw a great white shark biting（咬）the front of his board. Being ready to help others is a traditional virtue in China. How can I help others?

I'd like to volunteer in an old people's home. I'm good at telling stories and singing songs, so I can share some stories to make the old laugh. When I see the look of joy on their faces, I can get a strong feeling of happiness. What's more, I can help them with some housework, such as sweeping the floor and making the bed. I'm free to help them in July and August, because I don't need to go to school in these two months.
