Her light with my Shadow and we're three ___▲_____

It may make you feel surprised when you are told that hot drink you're drinking could really make you colder.
And that's not the only thing that makes it hard to stay warm when the temperature continues to drop around you. You're going to need all the advice you can get to stay warm this winter
Beclow are five things that will help you away from the cold in winter.
Loneliness can lower your body temperature
If you are in need of social contact, it may make you ill. In other words giving someone a "cold shoulder" can indeed make them feel colder.
Hot drinks might actually cool you off
When having a hot drink, your mouth "tells" the rest of your body that something "hot" is coming and you need to start sweating(出汗), This will not help you become warm. On the opposite, drinking too much of a cold drink can warm you up because it causes your blood vessels 血管)to tighten
You don't catch a cold because of cold weather
If you're in the lower temperatures, it doesn't give you a cold by itself. Instead, the rise in sicknesses and colds in the winter months is mainly because people spend more time indoors which allows germs to spread between people more easily.
White might actually be the warmest colour
Usually we wear white in summer and darker clothes in winter because black clothes get more heat from the sun and white clothing reflects it, but this common idea might be wrong. Some researchers say that white's function as a reflector also applies to(适用于) body heat, that is to say wearing white may trap your natural heat close to your body. Dark clothes may be less likely to trap your body heat in.
The cold weather can help you lose weight
In cold temperatures the body works harder to warm itself up, not only burning more calorie but also activating(激活) brown fat, which burns them more efficiently than white fat. So, some people believe that punishing themselves with icy-cold temperatures can help them lose more weight.

Natalie Portman, an American actress, won an Oscar. She graduated from Harvard. She has even tried out movie directing. And she brought her first movie to the 6th Beijing Film International Film Festival last month.
However, few people realize that Portman used to have some very different moments, and it happened during her time at Harvard University.
Portman went to Harvard at the age of 18. At the time, she had been acting for seven years and was already famous. But on that famous campus, she nearly lost her confidence.
She thought she could never read 1,000 pages every week or write a 50-page paper. She was shocked by her classmates—they thought that the workload(工作量)was easy to finish, compared with high school.
She started to think that she could only go to Harvard because she was famous. “I felt like every time I open my mouth, I would have to show that I wasn’t just a foolish actress.”
That feeling went on for two years. Luckily, things got better. In 2003, Portman graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
Portman said that the experience taught her that one should be always confident. That way, she said, you can “try things that you never would have tried”.
She tried a lot of new things with her first movie “A Tale of Love and Darkness”. She directed it. She wrote part of the script. She also made the film in Hebrew(希伯来语), the language of Israel, her birthplace.

We spend a lot of time sleeping at night and being active during the day. This is our second nature. That’s because we’re under the control of the body clocks inside nearly every cell. Also, our mood, strength, hormone levels, body temperature, metabolism and even the risk of a heart attack are all changing all the time every day. Our body clocks, however, are not controlled by cogs and pendulums. Instead, it’s the gene activity over 24 hours that keeps our body’s time. Jeffrey Hall, Michael Rosbash and Michael Young from the USA found these genes.
Dr. Michael Hastings, a circadian rhythm (昼夜节律) scientist in Cambridge, said more attention should be paid to this discovery.
Nobody now doubts the importance of our body clocks. Ask someone who doesn’t have a good habit of resting and working what goes wrong with his body clock.
Those who always live in this way may take the risk of having a lot of diseases, from cancer to diabetes, but understanding how the body’s clock works is also unlocking new ideas, like taking medicines at the time of day when they will have the biggest influence on the body.

In the middle of the night, Mary woke up. Heavy rain had started falling again, and the wind was blowing violently round the wall of the old house. Suddenly, she heard the crying again. This time she decided to discover who it was. She left her room, and in the darkness followed the crying sound, round corners and through doors, up and down stairs, to other side of the big house. At last, she found the right room. She pushed the door open and went in.
It was a big room with beautiful old furniture and pictures. In the large bed was a boy, who looked tired and cross, with a thin, white, tearful face. He stared at Mary.
“Who are you?” whispered, “Are you a dream?”
“No, I’m not. I am Mary Lennox, Mr. Craven’s my uncle.” “He’s my father.” said the boy. “I am Colin Craven.” “No one ever told me he had a son,” said Mary, very surprised.
“Well, no one ever told me you’d come to live here. I am ill, you see. I don’t want people to see me and talk about me. If I live, I may have a crooked back like my father, but I’ll probably die.”
“What a strange house this is.” said Mary. “So many secrets! Does your father come and see you often?”
“Not often. He doesn’t like seeing me because it makes him remember my mother. She died when I was born, so he almost hates me, I think.”
“Why do you say you’re going to die?” asked Mary.
“I’ve always been ill. I’ve nearly died several times, and my back’s never strong. My doctor feels confident I’m going to die. But he’s my father’s cousin, and very poor, ▲
Then he’d got all the money when my father dies. He gives me medicine and tells me to rest. We had a grand doctor from London once, who told me to go out in the fresh air and try to get well. But I hate fresh air. And another thing, all the servants (仆人) have to do what I want, because if I’m angry, I become ill. “
Mary thought she liked this boy, although he seemed so strange.
