Suthern Califrnia's Catalina Island is a ppular destinatin fr nature lvers. It is reachable by bat frm Ls Angeles and San Dieg. Mst f the small island is a gvernment-prtected wild area. But, a reprt last Octber in the Ls Angeles Times newspaper raised public cncern abut the water surrunding Catalina.
