不定冠词（a, an）是名词前限定词中的一种, 这种冠词不限定其后名词或名词短语具体所指，故称泛指。a/an 表示“一”的含义，但不强调数量。
例如：This is a wonderful story./This is an interesting story.
不定冠词 a/an 用于单数名词 story 前，不强调具体某一个故事。

定冠词（the）是名词前限定词中的一种, 这种冠词限定其后名词或名词短语具体所指，故称特
指。
例如：The girl in a blue skirt is my sister.
定冠词 the 用于名词 girl 前，强调所指女孩儿是特定的,是双方都知道的穿蓝裙子的女孩儿。
“the”后的名词可能是可数名词单数或复数，也有可能是不可数名词。
“the”在特殊情况下也有可能用在其他词性前，例如 I am the first one to finish the work.

1.4 零冠词的情况总结
零冠词是指名词前没有任何限定词的情况。
例如：Children's Day is on June 1st.
名词短语 Children's Day 和名词 June 前未使用冠词或其他限定词。
（ ）1. 一日三餐、球类运动和学科前不加冠词。
（ ）2. 在专有名词前不加冠词，如国名、省名、城市名、街名、公园名等
（ ）3. 表示称呼或头衔的名词前，不加冠词
（ ）4. 表示节日、季节、星期、月份的名词前不加冠词，
（ ）5. 在有物主代词、不定代词、指示代词等作定语的名词前，不用冠词
（ ）6. 在某些固定的词组或习语中，不用冠词
