Stand-up comedy is becoming popular among the young in China. One person, man or woman, stands on stage and tells funny stories, or funny people or funny things that happened to them. The performers will try their best to make people laugh.
Stand-up comedy is different from other forms of acting. An actor usually has script (剧本) to fall back on and a team of other actors to depend on. Unlike an actor, a stand-up performer is showing himself or herself but not creating characters. A stand-up performer fails or succeeds depending on his or her own talent. It usually takes days or even weeks of hard work to make people laugh for a few minutes. That’s why stand-up comedy has often been described as one of the hardest acts to complete successfully.
Stand-up-comedy can take many forms. It can include monologue (独白) on funny things that may form a story. It can be simply a series of jokes. It can also be performed almost anywhere-clubs, bars or parties.
Stand-up comedy has come a long way in the West, but it is a new art form in China. Today the most popular stand-up-comedy show in China is Rock & Roast. All of the seasons were popular. When the show came out , it took the Internet by storm and soon became one of the hottest TV shows in China. The show is such a big success that it has opened a new door to the golden age of stand-up comedy. More and more young people have begun watching stand-up comedy, and some even start doing it part-time. They say it’s a great way to relax.
62.Stand-up comedy is performed mainly to ________.
A.share some great ideas B.play tricks on people C.introduce a new art form D.bring people laughter

Mike is a 16-year-old boy from England and he has studied in China for about 5 years. He finds there are a lot of differences(不同点) between China and Britain. One cultural difference is that people do different things during the lunchtime. In China, people usually have longer time to have lunch than people in Britain. Therefore, Chinese people usually use lunchtime to have a short nap(小睡). The office workers may just sit against the chair, close their eyes and cover their bodies with coats. Then they will have a short nap. Students at school usually come back to the classroom after the lunch and then they all asleep with their heads on the desks. It seems that everyone in China needs a short nap. Because they believe they will be energetic(精力充沛的) after napping. But in Britain, taking a nap is quite uncommon.
