    解密13 阅读理解之细节理解题

    考点详解

    高考中细节理解题通常占阅读理解题总数的一半以上。2014年新课标全国卷考区及其他各考区的高考试题中考查细节理解的题目占阅读理解题目总数的55%左右。
    细节理解题要求考生对阅读材料中的某一具体事实和细节进行理解。它们大都是根据文章中的具体信息如事实、例证、原因、过程、论述等进行提问的。有些问题可以在文章中直接找到答案,有些则需要我们在理解的基础上将有关内容系统化才能找到,比如计算、排序、是非判断、图形比较等。
    常见的命题方式通常有:
    1.特殊疑问句形式。以when, where, what, which, who, how much/many等疑问词开头引出的问题;
    2. 以是非题的形式。true /false, not true / false或EXCEPT,近年这种题型较少;
    3. 以According to… 开头提问方式;
    4. 以填空题的形式,如:
    (1)To avoid attracting mountain lions, people are advised________.
    (2)By the first sentence of the passage author means that________.
    (3)It seems that now a country’s economy depends much on________.
    (4)If you are interested in knowing about what people’s life will be, you may visit________.
    (5)The policemen were told “to look the other way” (the underlined part in Paragraph 2) so that________.
    (6)The policeman who said “Good evening” to Rolls wanted to________.
    5. 就文中数字、排序、识图等提问。
    做细节理解题时,大多数学生易出现的问题是阅读速度太慢,缺乏一定的快速阅读技巧,考生要培养自己快速获取信息的能力。解答此类试题时,不必通篇细看原文,而常常可采取 “带着问题找答案”的方法.先从问题中抓住关键性词语。然后以此为线索。要快速地辨认和记忆事实或细节,就要恰当地运用略读及查读的技巧快速在文章中寻找与此问题相关的段落、语句.仔细品味,对照比较.确定答案。除了运用扫读法(scanning)外,还可以兼用排除法.将“无此细节”和“与此细节相反”的选项排除。
    了解细节题干扰选项的特点也有助于考生提高答题的正确率。一般情况下,干扰项有如下几个特点:(1)是原文信息,但不是题目要求的内容;(2)符合常识,但不是文章内容;(3)与原文的内容极其相似,只是在程度上有些变动;(4)在意思上与原文大相径庭甚至完全相反;(5)部分正确,部分错误。
    有的细节理解题只要直接辨认不要求读者对客观的事实作出解释或判断,只要求从阅读材料中直接获取信息。同时还要求读者记住重要细节,在必要的时候(做判断、推断或结论的时候)能够准确而迅速地将他们回忆起来。解此类题要求考生快速抓住原文中的关键信息,直接得出答案,但要注意往往答案与原文中的语句并非一模一样,而是用不同的词语或句型结构表达相同的意思。有的细节理解题就需要通过有关词语和句子的转换。利用主要事实、图表、图形来获取信息,然后利用因果、类比、时间、空间等关系将零碎的细节经过一系列加工、整理,方能做出正确的判断.此类试题在高考中占大多数。
    值得一提的是,有时原文中的信息可能只是一个短语,甚至一个单词,因此需要我们在阅读中特别仔细才能捕捉到真正有用的信息。
    细节理解题大致有如下几种常考题型:
    题型一 描写类细节题
    描写类细节题,常常考查考生对文中有关人物动作、思想感情、心理活动、观点,或事件的起因、发展、过程、结果等方面的理解。这类描写信息往往较直接,一般不太需要考生对它们进行较深入的理解,对于该类题,考生一般都可以较直接地从原文中找到与题目对应的有关信息。

    题型二 信息寻找题、广告阅读题
    信息寻找题一般在应用文体中较常见,体现于查字典、阅读广告、公告、演出海报、车船航班时间表等之中。这类阅读材料包含的某一方面的信息非常全面,能满足各种人对信息的需求,但在高考试题中,常常是就某一方面提问,考生完全没有必要从头到尾仔细阅读,因为材料中有很多冗余无效信息。做此类题时,宜采用“题干定全法”。即:先阅读题干,然后根据问题要求,有针对性地阅读相关部分快速寻找有效信息。
    广告是阅读理解题常考的一种题材。广告属应用文体。严格来说广告属快速寻找信息题。但是广告有着其他快速寻找信息题不同的特点。广告文体简洁明快,省略了大量的词语,达到了篇幅小、信息多的目的。同时具有语言精练,形象性、鼓动性强的良好效果。广告阅读题多为细节理解题,关键在于正确理解广告内容。考生必须具备较强的语言运用能力,熟悉文化背景,利用各种手段(如:补全、联想、推测等)正确解读广告的内容。通常运用“补全成分法”和“联想推测法”两种方法来解读广告的内容。做题方法同样采用“题干定向法”。
    (1)补全成分法
    省略名在广告体阅读材料中大量出现,可以说广告阅读理解材料中大多数句子都是省略句。我们应结合全文语境及逻辑关系将省略句补全,从而更加准确地理解。如:Driver wanted. 根据文义,可将该句补充为:A driver will be wanted. (招聘一名司机)。
    (2)联想推测法
    在些广告时间、日期、地点、电话、票价等用了缩略词,甚至一概没有提及,这就需要考生前后连贯,充分想象,整体理解。搜寻已知信息,推断语篇意义。
    为节省篇幅,特别是在商业广告中,常使用缩写词,尽管有些缩写不太规范,但却常用,常见的缩写词有:
    Tel. =telephone number
    Ph. =phone Add (r). =address
    co. =company Ltd=Limited
    Max=maximum Min=minimum
    hr=hour t=time
    fig=figure ft=foot
    ml=mile doz=dozen
    Mt=Mountain P=page
    prof. =professor Dr. =doctor
    s=south n=north
    w=west Sta=Station
    pop=popular vs=versus
    Xmas=Christmas info=information
    VIP=very important persons hrs=hours
    aft=after ad=advertisement
    p/t=part time exp=experienced
    PC=personal computer MA=Master of Arts
    BS degree=bachelor's degree (学士学位)

    题型三 数据计算题
    此类试题一般要求考生能根据阅读材料中给出的有关数据,找出计算关系,通过计算,得出正确的结论。这类计算一般来说比较简单,关键是要弄清各数据间的逻辑关系,选准比较的数据,弄清单位换算关系,确定计算方法,问题便迎刃而解了。对于数据较多、项目复杂用时间或空间跨度较大的短文,通常可采用“列表法”,即按一定的规律将数据分门别类地列出,化模糊为清晰,为计算打下基础。对于相对不太复杂的数据,可采用“推算法”,即以有关数据为基准,进行简单的运算就可得出。

    The Home of My People
    When Lewis and Clark stepped onto the Weippe Prairie in present-day Idaho in September 1808, they met the Nez Perce Indians. In the following years, the white explorers(探险者)began to fight with the Indians for their land. Some Nez Perce chiefs signed agreements with the U.S. government, selling part of their lands. But the government always broke those agreements and demanded more land.
    Other chiefs refused to go along with the government’s plans. The most famous was Chief Joseph, whose people lived in the Wallowa Valley(present-day Oregon).
    “In order to have all people understand how much land we owned, ” he once explained, “my father planted poles around it and said: ‘Inside is the home of my people…It circled around the graves(坟墓)of our fathers, and we will never give up these graves to any man. ’”
    But in 1874, the U.S. government declared the valley open for white settlement and ordered the Nez Perce onto a reservation(保留地). Seeing that resistance was useless, Chief Joseph agreed to move.
    Later, fighting broke out between the Nez Perce and U.S. soldiers. Chief Joseph tried to lead his people to Canada, winning several battles against the soldiers during their flight. But finally, he was forced to give in.
    1. Which historic site (on the map)lies in the south of today’s Nez Perce Reservation?
    A. Buffalo Eddy. B. Dug Bar.
    C. Joseph Canyon Viewpoint. D. Chief Looking Glass Camp.
    2. What can we learn about the Nez Perce lands from the map?
    A. They were in the state of Oregon.
    B. They have become a historic site.
    C. They have become much smaller.
    D. They were limited to the Wallowa Valley.
    【答案与解析】
    1.D 此题考查学生的图示理解能力。首先要找到并标出现在Nez Perce Reservation所在的位置,然后找到它以南的历史景点。可以看到Chief Looking Glass camp位于Nez Perce Reservation的南部。
    2.C 从地图中我们可以看到,Nez Perce原先所拥有的土地比现在Nez Perce保留区的位置大多了。
    6.代词指代题解题技能
    代词指代题要求考生一定的上下文推测代词的指代意义。此类题一般是在人物或事物关系比较复杂的情况下使用的一种题型,所以理清人物及事物之间的逻辑关系是关键所在。

    (全国新高考C篇)
    In the mid-1990s, Tom Bissell taught English as a volunteer in Uzbekistan. He left after seven months, physically broken and having lost his mind. A few years later, still attracted to the country, he returned to Uzbekistan to write an article about the disappearance of the Aral Sea.
    His visit, however, ended up involving a lot more than that. Hence this book, Chasing the Sea: Lost Among the Ghosts of Empire in Central Asia, which talks about a road trip from Tashkent to Karakalpakstan, where millions of lives have been destroyed by the slow drying up of the sea. It is the story of an American travelling to a strange land, and of the people he meets on his way: Rustam, his translator, a lovely 24-year-old who picked up his colorful English in California, Oleg and Natasha, his hosts in Tashkent, and a string of foreign aid workers.
    This is a quick look at life in Uzbekistan, made of friendliness and warmth, but also its darker side of society. In Samarkand, Mr Bissell admires the architectural wonders, while on his way to Bukhara he gets a taste of police methods when suspected of drug dealing. In Ferghana, he attends a mountain funeral(葬礼)followed by a strange drinking party. And in Karakalpakstan, he is saddened by the dust storms, diseases and fishing boats stuck miles from the sea.
    Mr Bissell skillfully organizes historical insights and cultural references, making his tale a well-rounded picture of Uzbekistan, seen from Western eyes. His judgment and references are decidedly American, as well as his delicate stomach. As the author explains, this is neither a travel nor a history book, or even a piece of reportage. Whatever it is, the result is a fine and vivid description of the purest of Central Asian traditions.
    9. What does the underlined word “that” in paragraph 2 refer to?
    A. Developing a serious mental disease.
    B. Taking a guided tour in Central Asia.
    C. Working as a volunteer in Uzbekistan.
    D. Writing an article about the Aral Sea.
    【答案】
    【解析】
    本文是记叙文。文章讲述了Bissell写的《追逐大海:迷失在中亚帝国的幽灵》这本书。这本书是Bissell在乌兹别克斯坦做志愿者后写的,是对乌兹别克斯坦人生活的一个快速观察。
    9. D。
    词句猜测题。划线句是第二段首句,that用来指代上文提的事情,因此推断that指代第一段的内容,根据第一段最后一句”A few years later, still attracted to the country, he returned to Uzbekistan to write an article about the disappearance of the Aral Sea(几年后,仍然被这个国家所吸引。他回到乌兹别克斯坦写了一篇关于咸海消失的文章)”可知,that指代写了一篇关于死海消失的文章这件事,故选D。

    Passage 2 (2020·全国新课标卷Ⅰ·B)
    Jenifer Mauer has needed more willpower than the typical college student to pursue her goal of earning a nursing degree. That willpower bore fruit when Jennifer graduated from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and became the first in her large family to earn a bachelor's degree.
    Mauer, of Edgar, Wisconsin, grew up on a farm in a family of 10 children. Her dad worked at a job away from the farm, and her mother ran the farm with the kids. After high school, Jennifer attended a local technical college, working to pay her tuition(学费), because there was no extra money set aside for a college education. After graduation, she worked to help her sisters and brothers pay for their schooling.
    Jennifer now is married and has three children of her own. She decided to go back to college to advance her career and to be able to better support her family while doing something she loves: nursing. She chose the UW-Eau Claire program at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield because she was able to pursue her four-year degree close to home. She could drive to class and be home in the evening to help with her kids. Jenifer received great support from her family as she worked to earn her degree: Her husband worked two jobs to cover the bills, and her 68-year-old mother helped take care of the children at times.
    Through it all, she remained in good academic standing and graduated with honors. Jennifer sacrificed(牺牲)to achieve her goal, giving up many nights with her kids and missing important events to study. ''Some nights my heart was breaking to have to pick between my kids and studying for exams or papers,'' she says. However, her children have learned an important lesson witnessing their mother earn her degree. Jennifer is a first-generation graduate and an inspiration to her family-and that's pretty powerful.
    4. What did Jennifer do after high school?
    A. She helped her dad with his work.
    B. She ran the family farm on her own.
    C. She supported herself through college.
    D. She taught her sisters and brothers at home.
    5. Why did Jennifer choose the program at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield?
    A. To take care of her kids easily. B. To learn from the best nurses.
    C. To save money for her parents. D. To find a well-paid job there.
    6. What did Jennifer sacrifice to achieve her goal?
    A. Her health. B. Her time with family.
    C. Her reputation. D. Her chance of promotion.
    7. What can we learn from Jenifer's story?
    A. Time is money. B. Love breaks down barriers.
    C. Hard work pays off. D. Education is the key to success.

    Passage 2 (2020·全国新课标卷Ш·C)

    With the young unable to afford to leave home and the old at risk of isolation(孤独), more families are choosing to live together.
    The doorway to peace and quiet, for Nick Bright at least, leads straight to his mother-in-law, she lives on the ground floor, while he lives upstairs with his wife and their two daughters.
    Four years ago they all moved into a three-storey Victorian house in Bristol - one of a growing number of multigenerational families in the UK living together under the same roof. They share a front door and a washing machine, but Rita Whitehead has her own kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room on the ground floor.
    “We floated the idea to my mum of sharing at a house,” says Kathryn Whitehead. Rita cuts in: “We spoke more with Nick because I think it’s a big thing for Nick to live with his mother-in-law.”
    And what does Nick think? “From my standpoint, it all seems to work very well. Would I recommend it? Yes, I think I would.”
    It’s hard to tell exactly how many people agree with him, but research indicates that the numbers have been rising for some time. Official reports suggest that the number of households with three generations living together had risen from 325,000 in 2001to 419,000 in 2013.
    Other varieties of multigenerational family are more common. Some people live with their elderly parents; many more adult children are returning to the family home, if they ever left. It is said that about 20% of 25-34-year-olds live with their parents, compared with 16% in 1991.The total number of all multigenerational households in Britain is thought to be about 1.8 million.
    Stories like that are more common in parts of the world where multigenerational living is more firmly rooted. In India, particularly outside cities, young women are expected to move in with their husband’s family when they get married.
    8. Who mainly uses the ground floor in the Victorian house in Bristol?
    A. Nick. B. Rita. C. Kathryn D. The daughters.
    9. What is Nick’s attitude towards sharing the house with his mother-in -law?
    A. Positive. B. Carefree. C. Tolerant. D. Unwilling.
    10. What is the author’s statement about multigenerational family based on?
    A. Family traditions. B. Financial reports. C. Published statistics. D. Public opinions.
    11. What is the text mainly about?
    A. Lifestyles in different countries. B. Conflicts between generations.
    C. A housing problem in Britain. D. A rising trend of living in the UK.

    Passage 4(2020·江苏·B)

    Sometimes it’s hard to let go. For many British people, that can apply to institutions and objects that represent their country’s past-age-old castles, splendid homes… and red phone boxes.
    Beaten first by the march of technology and lately by the terrible weather in junkyards (废品场), the phone boxes representative of an age are now making something of a comeback. Adapted in imaginative ways, many have reappeared on city streets and village greens housing tiny cafes, cellphone repair shops or even defibrillator machines (除颤器).
    The original iron boxes with the round roofs first appeared in 1926. They were designed by Giles Gilbert Scott, the architect of the Battersea Power Station in London. After becoming an important part of many British streets, the phone boxes began disappearing in the 1980s, with the rise of the mobile phone sending most of them away to the junkyards.
    About that time, Tony Inglis’ engineering and transport company got the job to remove phone boxes from the streets and sell them out. But Inglis ended up buying hundreds of them himself, with the idea of repairing and selling them. He said that he had heard the calls to preserve the boxes and had seen how some of them were listed as historic buildings.
    As Inglis and, later other businessmen, got to work, repurposed phone boxes began reappearing in cities and villages as people found new uses for them. Today, they are once again a familiar sight, playing roles that are often just as important for the community as their original purpose.
    In rural areas, where ambulances can take a relatively long time to arrive, the phone boxes have taken on a lifesaving role. Local organizations can adopt them for l pound, and install defibrillators to help in emergencies.
    Others also looked at the phone boxes and saw business opportunities. LoveFone, a company that advocates repairing cellphones rather than abandoning them, opened a mini workshop in a London phone box in 2016.
    The tiny shops made economic sense, according to Robert Kerr, a founder of LoveFone. He said that one of the boxes generated around $13,500 in revenue a month and cost only about $400 to rent.
    Inglis said phone boxes called to mind an age when things were built to last. I “like what they are to people, and I enjoy bringing things back,” he said.
    12. The phone boxes are making a comeback ______.
    A. to form a beautiful sight of the city
    B. to improve telecommunications services
    C. to remind people of a historical period
    D. to meet the requirement of green economy
    13. Why did the phone boxes begin to go out of service in the 1980s?
    A. They were not well-designed. B. They provided bad services.
    C. They had too short a history. D. They lost to new technologies.
    14. The phone boxes are becoming popular mainly because of ______.
    A. their new appearance and lower prices B. the push of the local organizations
    C. their changed roles and functions D. the big funding of the businessmen

    Passage 5(2020·天津·A)
    How to Use a Modern Public Library
    Has it been a while since your last visit to a public library? If so, you may be surprised to learn that libraries have changed for the better. It’s been years since they were dusty little rooms with books. They have transformed themselves into places where you can develop your love of knowledge meet interesting people, or find out how to start a business.
    Check out a book. While libraries still loan out(出借)books, you’ll find it easier to get a copy of whatever you’re looking for, thanks to a cooperative network of area libraries. Via such networks, libraries share their books with each other through the use of delivery vehicles. Once the book you’ve requested is delivered to the nearest branch, they will inform you by e-mail, so you can pick it up.
    Check out other items. The library is now a multimedia zone, loaded with information in many formats(载体形式). You can borrow movies on DVDs, music on CDs, and popular magazines. Some libraries even loan out toys and games. If a popular magazine you want isn’t offered and the library keeps a list of such requests, they may bring it in when enough interest is shown.
    Join targeted reading groups. Libraries will often hold reading-group sessions targeted to various age groups. Perhaps you’d like to learn a language or improve your English. The library may sponsor a language group you could join. If you have difficulties reading, ask about special reading opportunities. Your library might be able to accommodate you. And you might find it relaxing to bring your small kid to a half-hour Story Time while you sit quietly in a corner with a good book.
    Start a business using the help of your local library. If you want to have a business of your own, your local library can become a launch space for it. In library books and computers, you can find information on starting a business. Many libraries will help you with locally supplied information about business management shared through chambers of commerce(商会)and government agencies, and they will offer printing, faxing and database services you need.
    15. Public libraries connected by a cooperative network benefit readers by______.
    A. sharing their books on the Internet
    B. giving access to online reading at a library branch
    C. sending a needed book to a library branch nearby
    D. making the checkout procedures diverse
    16. According to Paragraph 3, what items may be checked out from a public library?
    A. A magazine and an e-book.
    B. A game and an oil painting.
    C. A music CD and a kid’s toy.
    D. A DVD and a video player
    17. As is described in Paragraph 4, taking a small kid to a half-hour Story Time allows ______.
    A. the kid to learn a new language
    B. the parent to enjoy quiet reading
    C. the kid to overcome reading difficulties
    D. the parent to meet their program sponsor
    18. Your local library can help you start a business by ______.
    A. providing relevant information and supporting services
    B. offering professional advice on business management
    C. supplying useful information of your potential buyers
    D. arranging meetings with government officials
    19. What is the purpose of the passage?

    COURTESY PAUL BOZYMOWSKI-Three New York City police officers paid for a woman’s groceries rather than arresting her.
    As temperatures approached 90 degrees in New York City last July 4th, three police officers ducked into a Whole Foods Market to get something cold to drink. What they walked into was a heated human drama.
    Once inside, the cops, Lt. Louis Sojo and Officers Esanidy Cuevas and Michael Rivera, were approached by a store security guard who asked for help with a suspected shoplifter. The woman in question didn’t have the look of a career criminal. She was obviously scared, and her cheeks were wet with tears.
    The cops peeked inside her bag. “All we saw was containers of food.” Cuevas told CBS New York.
    "I’m hungry," she explained quietly.
    Caught red-handed, the woman no doubt expected to be sentenced to jail for the crime of being hungry while poor. But the cops had other ideas. “We’ll pay for her food,” Sojo told the surprised security guard.
    There’d been no discussion among the three men. It went unsaid. Instead, they picked up the woman’s bag and accompanied her to a cash register, where each took out $10 to pay the tab. She would not be arrested today.
    All the woman could do was weep in gratitude. Covering her face with a kerchief and drying her eyes, she repeated, “Thank you, thank you.”
    She wasn’t the only one touched by this act of mercy. “It was a very beautiful, genuine moment,” says Paul Bozymowski, who was at the store. He was so taken by what he’d witnessed that he posted a photo on Twitter for all to see.
    But attention was never what the officers sought. They were driven by a far more common emotion. As Sojo told CNN, “When you look at someone’s face and see that they need you and they’re actually hungry, it’s pretty difficult as a human being to walk away from something like this.”
    1. What can be learnt about the woman from the passage?
    A. She had stolen in the shop several times before.
    B. She was caught on the spot by three police officers.
    C. She was found innocent and would not be arrested.
    D. She was forced to commit the crime due to the dilemma of life.
    2. Paul Bozymowski posted a photo on Twitter to .
    A. appeal for sympathy for the people in need B. express his gratitude to the police officers
    C. show more people the cops’ act of kindness D. record the unforgettable moment in his life
    3. What drove the three police officers to pay for the woman?
    A. Their great devotion to work B. A deep sense of being human
    C. The attraction of the public attention D. Their different attitude towards shoplifting

    Before the flight:
    Try to book a morning flight. If it is delayed or canceled, you have the rest of the day to make alternate planes. Make sure your child doesn’t wear any clothing that has his or her name on it, which would make it easier for a stranger to convince a child he can be trusted.

    Register your child’s travel plans with the U. S. State Department, which can provide assistance in an emergency. This is a free service.
    What to pack:
    Cell phone: If your child doesn’t have a cell phone, buy him or her a pay-as-you-go phone at a cell phone retailer (零售店) so he or she has an easy form of communication for emergencies.
    Gift cards: Invest in a few pre-paid gift cards worth $ 25 or $ 50, This will reduce the worry of traveling with a large amount of cash.
    Family/ friends contact information: Give your child a complete list of names, numbers and addresses of the people who are picking your child up at the airport.
