Text 1

M: It's warm and I can finally wear my favorite T-shirt and shorts.

W: But it can be cool sometimes. So you'd better keep a jacket with you.

W: Oh, my God! My flight will take off in half an hour. Could you please drive a bit faster, sir?

M: OK. Actually, you don't need to worry. We'll reach the airport in five minutes.

W: I went to the lecture yesterday. It was fantastic, right?

M: Well, the topic was interesting, but I couldn't follow it completely.

W: Hello, John! Did you have a good sleep last night after a long flight?

M: Well, I never slept better.  I feel relaxed now and I'm leaving for an appointment with my client.

M: Can you come to my office right now, Anna?

W: Of course, sir. Am I in trouble?

M: No, don't worry. I just want to discuss our new project with you.

W: Shall we go to the cinema together?

M: I'm afraid not. I will be on holiday from tomorrow on. I will first fly to New York and spend a few days with my friend. ⑥After that, I will go to California. My cousin studies in the University of California and she will show me around her school then.

W: That's really nice. You do like travel, right? I remember you went to Florida and Hawaii last year.

M: Well, ⑦I did go to Florida with my brother last summer, but I haven't been to Hawaii up to now. Maybe I will go there next year.

M: Hey, Miranda! Why are you in such a hurry?

W: ⑧I have only 20 minutes left. I've got an appointment. I'm meeting a friend in the city center at 10:00 am. I hope not to arrive late.

M: Well, I'm going there, too. I can give you a lift if you like.

W: Really? That would be great.

M: Where are you meeting your friend?

W: ⑨At Good Days on King Street. It would be fine if you can drop me at an underground station.

M: ⑨Oh, I know it. It's a good place to see a film. I'll take you there directly.

W: That's very kind of you.

M: Hello! This is Bob speaking.

W: Hi, Bob! It's Jenny. Thank you for the message about the meeting. But I'm afraid I won't be there tomorrow, because I will fly to London tonight. I will sign a contract with an important client tomorrow morning there.  Can my assistant Tina attend the meeting instead of me?

M: Yes. Please make sure Tina will be present at the meeting.

W: OK. She had a cold and didn't come to work today. I'll call her later. What's the meeting about? Is it about the new department? Or the new product?

M: Not exactly. We will talk about how to improve our service.

W: I see. When will the meeting be held?

M: It will begin at half past three in the afternoon and will last for about an hour.

W: Thank you so much.

M: No problem. It's my job.

M: Do you like this house, Susan?

W: It's almost perfect. It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms just like we wanted.

M: Yes. And the backyard is huge.  Our dog will be happy to run around. Also, there is a very large dining room, where we can host dinners for our children.

W: Yes. I love the dining room. The light is amazing. And the kitchen is to die for. It has so much space.  We only need to get some equipment.

M: Well, it sounds like we love the house. So, why do you say it's almost perfect?

W: I'm just a little worried about the neighborhood.

M: What do you mean?

W: I mean the distance from my office. It would add at least half an hour on the road.

M: I understand what you are saying. But this is the nicest house we've looked at in our price range. Amy and Tony can have their own room next to ours. 

This is a wonderful neighborhood. Honestly, I think it would be foolish to pass up this deal.

W: OK. Let's decide on it.

M: Have you heard about the new restaurant on Main Street? They have two buildings that are on opposite sides of the street. They built a bridge between the buildings that is made of glass with fishes swimming inside. So, when you walk from one building to the other, you feel like you are walking through the ocean.

Of course, it's a seafood restaurant, so they have all kinds of seafood. You can get 30 different kinds of fish!   And they have crabs, shrimp, and lobsters in pools in the lobby. You can catch them yourself and have them for dinner, just like if you were on a fishing boat.

The part I like the most is the rooms. Each of the rooms is decorated in a different way. I had dinner in a cool room. It was decorated like an old English sailing ship.  When we were leaving, I looked inside some of the other rooms and I saw a pirate ship and an underwater lab.

You really have to try this place when you get a chance!
