With fast fashin being mre ppular than ever, clth mending isn’t nearly as necessary as it nce was. Gt a tear in ne f yur scks? Just thrw it and get a new pair. The same ges fr any ther clthes, s clth mending is slwly gne. But what abut smething truly special and dear t yur hearts? Yu can’t just g ut and change smething f feeling value, but yu can’t wear it with a hle in it either. That’s where the magical art f kaketsugi cmes in. It’s really an unbelievable technique(技术).

Cutting the piece f clth dwn t single threads is prbably the hardest part f kaketsugi, but peple wh are gd at this skill say that using the same clth as the ne that the clthing is made f is key t making the mending truly unseen in the end. Once the sewing prcess is cmplete, the leftver threads are used t mask the breakdwn even mre. Finally, the area repaired with kaketsugi is irned ut(熨平). That helps smth everything ut and at this pint, it’s almst impssible t see where the hle was in the first place. The clthing lks fire-new.
Interestingly, unseen mending wrks just as well n small hles f just a few millimeters, as it des n large nes f ver 3 centimeters. It’s just that a large brken area will take mre time t fix, s the larger the hle is, the mre expensive the repairs are.

    A. Dubtful.B. Cnfused.C. Uncaring.D. Supprtive.
