Step 1:Pre-task Activities.
1. Enjoy a song.《Months of the year》
2.Free talk. T:How many months are there in a year SS:There are twelve months in a year. T:How many days are there in January Ss:There are thirty-one days in January.
Step 2:While-task Activities.
1.Ask and answer. T:When is Children’s Day in China S1:It’s in June. T:Yes, Children’s Day is on 1st June. (教师边说边板书:Children’s Day ------1st June) T:When is Teachers’ Day in China S2:It’s in September. T:Yes, Teachers’ Day is on 10th September. (教师边说边板书:Teachers’ Day------10th September)
2. Learn the new words. (1)教师出示日历,从10月1号这一页开始,依次往后翻,教读单词first,second, third,fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth. (2)请学生循着规律,自己从10月11号这一日一直读到31号。 (3)让学生自己对照课本15页上的表格,归纳基数词是如何转化为序数词的。 (4)请学生将几个特殊变化的单词用红笔圈出来,同时总结规则变化的规律。
3. More practice. (1)学生自由朗读15页表内新单词。(From first to thirty-first.) (2)Quick response.(快速反应) 教师将日历随机翻至一页,学生大声快速说出对应的日期。
4. Learn the new sentences. T:My birthday is on 23th November. When’s your birthday (引导学生用句型It’s on...回答生日日期) (1)Work in pairs. (同桌练习问答彼此生日日期,教师单独指导学困生。) (2) Talk and show. (请几组同学展示他们练习的对话。)
5. Listen and match. 播放一段录音,请学生根据录音内容,将几位小朋友和他们的生日日期连线。
Step 3:Post-task activities.
1. Ask and answer. (六人一组,接龙问生日,边问边由小组长在课本18页的表格内记下组内每位成员的生日日期。)

Step 2:While-task Activities.
1. Listen and complete. T:Today is Peter’s birthday. Let’s listen to the tape, and then help Peter to complete the invitation. (教师播放Listen and say对话录音,学生边听边完成邀请函的填写。)
2. Listen and repeat. 教师播放Listen and say对话录音,学生边听边跟读。
3. Ask students to read the dialogue by themselves.
4. Do role-play. 学生两人一组,一个扮演Peter,一个扮演Joe,表演对话。

Step 3:Post-task activities.
1. Make an invitation. 给学生发白纸,让学生仿照Peter的生日邀请函,制作一张自己的生日邀请函。
2. Make a new dialogue. (Work in pairs.) S1:Can you come to my birthday party, _________ S2:Sure. When’s your birthday S1:It’s on... S2:What time does the party begin S1:It begins at_______ in the_____________. S2:OK. S1:Can you bring some_________ things to the party It’s a“________party”. ___________is my favourite colour. 2. Look and say.(教师在幻灯片上出示几张自己过生日的照片) T:Look! This is my birthday party. I have a blue dress. My father has a white T-shirt. My mother has a black skirt. My brother has a pair of yellow shorts. What can you see on the table S1:A book. S2:A toy bear. S3:A birthday cake. S4:A card. T:Yes. I have got some gifts. I’m very happy at my birthday party. Do you want to come to Peter’s birthday party Ss:Yes, I do. T:OK. Let’s go to Peter’s birthday party.
Step 2:While-task Activities. 1.出示Say and act的图片,师生问答,引入课文,突出orange party主题。 ① Whose birthday party is it ② Who are at the party ③What orange things can you see on the table 2.Listen and repeat.播放课文录音,学生跟读对话。
3. Match and say. T:What orange things does______have S1:Jill has an orange hat. S2:Kitty has an orange skirt. S3:Alice has an orange card. S4:Joe has an orange T-shirt.
4.Do role-play.五人一组,分角色表演对话。
5. Make a new dialogue.(5人一组,模仿课文对话,和小组成员编一个其它颜色的主题派对,例如:a red party, a pink party, a green party)
6. Talk and show.(请几组同学表演自己的新对话。)
7. Learn the sounds. ① 出示单词first toast post postman,教师播放录音,学生跟读单词。 ② 播放儿歌录音,学生模仿录音跟读儿歌。 ③ 学生自由朗读儿歌。 ④ 请有能力的学生朗读儿歌。
Step 3:Post-task activities.
1. Read and fill in the blanks.(阅读对话,填空完成短文。)
2. Check the answers, and then ask all the students to read the passage.
3. Culture corner. T:Have you got any gifts at your birthday party (教师在幻灯片上呈现gift单词和礼物盒子,让学生自己猜测感受gift词义) Ss:Yes. T:OK. Gift giving is a big part of any culture. Gift giving can renew friendship. But different countries have different etiquette of gift giving and gift receiving. Do you know the differences of gift receiving between China and Western countries (学生听不懂,可在幻灯片上面配上中文翻译。) Ss:No, I don’t know. T:Well, let’s look and learn the differences of gift receiving between China and Western countries.(教师边说边呈现图片和文字) ① 播放录音,学生跟读。 ② 解释短语right away的意思。 ③ 解释中西方接受礼物文化差异背后的民族性格差异。 ④ 总结:Cultural differences exist in different countries. It is just the differences that make our world diverse! [设计意图] 本节课主要是引导学生能在语境中正确运用本单元的核心词汇,并让学生询问彼此的生日并邀请对方参加自己的生日聚会。课前通过图片、儿歌等环节导入,活跃课堂气氛,激发学生学习英语兴趣,同时也引出本课的主题“My birthday”。在单词、句型教授环节中,运用任务型教学和情境教学交叉进行,效果良好。让枯燥的知识变得活跃起来,学生们在玩乐中掌握运用。在短文“Say and act”教学中,通过看图说话、配对练习,鼓励学生们进行对话表演,继而创编对话。同时本课以学生为主体,大胆放手,让他们自行阅读并理解课文,积极参与课堂教学中来。
