One supermarket chain in Finland has cme up with a way t reduce fd waste. All 900 S-Market stres thrughut the cuntry knck 60 percent ff already-reduced meat and fish at 9 ’clck each evening in an effrt t mve it ff shelves befre expiring (过期) at midnight.
It’s part f a tw-year campaign t reduce fd waste that cmpany managers decide t call “happy hur” in the hpe f drawing in regulars.
It makes custmers get super-cheap fd, retailers (零售商) dn’t have t pay fr dispsal (and earn mre than if they dnated the fd), and it eases the burden n the planet.
Reducing fd waste is nt ften enugh seen as an effective slutin t the climate crisis. Energy, fr example, receives mre fcus than fd, and yet fd is smething that individuals can and shuld slve n a persnal level. A recent UN reprt stated that a shcking ne-third f fd prduced fr human cnsumptin never gets eaten. This equals 1.3 billin tns f fd wrth $ 680 billin. Frm the reprt:
“Causes f fd lss and waste differ greatly between develped and develping cuntries, as well as between regins. Reducing this lss and waste wuld reduce greenhuse gas emissins and imprve fd security.”
Supermarkets are well psitined t make a difference when it cmes t fd waste, but they have t be willing t accept sme financial lsses. Reducing prices n nearly-expired fd is an excellent place t start, as is ding away with bulk discunts, e. g. tw fr the price f ne, which encurages ver-buying.
Individuals have a respnsibility, t, t eat mre f what they buy. Take a mment t lk at the cntents f yur refrigeratr and pantry (食品储藏室) befre shpping and wrk with what yu have, in rder f hw sn items will expire. Dn’t be influenced by in-the-mment desires that are unlikely t get used in their entirety. Cnsider mentining the S-Market initiative (新方案) t yur lcal grcery stre, in hpes that it, t, will cnsider carrying a happy hur f srts ut.
24.What des S-Market’s act result in?
    A. Greater recgnitin. B. A win-win-win situatin.
    C. Mre financial prfit. D. Mre new custmers.
25.What can we knw abut fd waste?
    A. Peple are fully aware f the prblem.
    B. Slving it is an effective way t fight climate crisis.
    C. Peple need t quickly find ut the reasn fr fd waste.
    D. There's mre fd waste in develped cuntries than in develping cuntries.
26.In the last paragraph, the authr advises readers t_______.
    A. buy with care befre shpping
    B. jin their lcal grcery stres’ campaign
    C. cme up with new ways t slve fd waste
    D. make sure there’s enugh space fr fd in the fridge
27.What is the best title fr the text?
    A. It Is Everyne’s Respnsibility t Slve Fd Waste
    B. Fd Waste Hasn’t Been Taken Seriusly Enugh
    C. Finnish Supermarkets Use “Happy Hur” t Fight Fd Waste
    D. Finnish Supermarkets Sell Nearly-expired Fd Uniquely

The Tky Olympics have been pstpned until 2021. That delay ffers a chance fr reflectin. The Internatinal Olympic Cmmittee wants t make the games mre ppular with yung peple. T that end, it is intrducing new events, such as skatebarding, surfing and climbing. Why nt g further and let natinal teams cmpete at vide games? Electrnic sprts such as “Frtnite”, are vastly mre ppular than strange Olympic sprts like curling (冰壶).In fact, they are mre appealing than mst mainstream sprts. Only 28% f British bys aged 16-19 watch any traditinal live sprts; 57% play vide games.
Sme may cmplain that e-sprts are nt prper sprts. Many parents, bserving their teenagers sitting n the sfa all day shuting “Quick, pass me the shtgun!” at a screen, wuld agree. Yet vide games are highly cmpetitive, with prfessinal teams that play t packed stadiums. There are perhaps nly 200 tennis stars in the wrld wh can make a living frm playing in majr cmpetitins. By cntrast, “League f Legends", a fantasy game played by teams f five, supprts ver 1,000 n gd wages. Its Wrld Champinship final last year was watched by 44 millin peple.
Thse against e-sprts ffer mral bjectins, t. They are addictive. Prince Harry has called fr “Frtnite” t be banned fr this reasn. They are vilent. At a time f glbal disharmny, it is a bad idea t make virtual killing an Olympic sprt. The Olympics aim t prmte peace.
Neither f these arguments is cnvincing. The idea that an activity, rather than a material, can be addictive is cntrversial amng dctrs, as is the existence f a causal link (因果关系) between gaming and vilence. And the belief that warlike sprts have n place in the Olympics is hard t agree with histry. Wrestling was intrduced in 708 BC. It is still there.
    28. Why is the Internatinal Olympic Cmmittee bringing in new events?
    A. T replace mainstream sprts.B. T attract mre yung peple.
    C. T make up fr the delay.D. T shw innvatins.
    29. What are the figures in Paragraph 2 intended t shw?
    A. E-sprts are prper games.B. Tennis has declined greatly.
    C. Tennis players‘ salary is lwer.D. E-sprt players have achieved a lt.
    30. Hw des the authr feel twards the causal link between gaming and vilence?.
    A. Psitive.B. Sceptical.
    C. Uncncerned.D. Discuraged.
    31. What is the purpse f the text?
    A. T intrduce hw e-sprts develp.
    B. T shw what benefits e-sprts can bring.
    C. T explain why yung peple like playing e-sprts.
    D. T argue e-sprts can be included in the Olympics.
    D

Althugh we cnsidered whether this was just due t what rich peple eat and drink, clinical trials at randm are needed t determine if making easy changes in ur diet culd help ur brains in significant ways.”

Brandn Klinedinst, an authr f the study, added “Depending n the genetic factrs yu carry, sme individuals seem t be mre prtected frm the effects f Alzheimer's, while thers seem t be at greater risk. Perhaps the silver bullet we're lking fr is imprving hw we eat. Knwing what that invlves cntributes t a better understanding f Alzheimer's and putting this disease in an ppsite path.”
    32. What is the study mainly abut?
