The bouquets(花束)for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games award ceremonies are quite different as they are made of wool. Wool bouquets are nothing like those made from other materials that will be easy to fade and they're low-carbon, which reflects the concept of "green Olympics".
Li Meili,a traditional wool-knitting(针织)expert,can still remember the exciting moment in October 2021, when she learned the wool bouquet was chosen as the final plan for the award ceremony of the Olympic Games."At that time, I felt my dream had come true. Our design had been provided for the organizing committee for more than four months. I once thought it was hopeless," said the 70-year-old artist.
Li began to learn the knitting technique in her fifties after retirement. She is quite familiar with all the kinds of flowers in the bouquet, but she has decided to be stricter with herself to meet the Olympic standards."I chose thin wool. Though the speed of knitting will be slower, the bouquets will look more beautiful," she said.
A total of 1,251 bouquets are needed for the awards of Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics. The bouquet consists of seven different wool flowers. Each flower was handmade, which requires plenty of time and manpower. "Take a rose for example. A weaver needs to spend at least five hours on one rose,"said Li."Therefore,to complete making a bouquet will require around 35 hours. All the bouquets will take nearly 50,000hours to finish knitting."
Li is responsible for personnel training, quality control and final assembly of the bouquets. To ensure the high quality of the bouquets, each knitting group is only incharge of one or two kinds of flowers. "The original bouquet was thinner. I filled the 'branches’ into it to make it touch more comfortable,"she added.
24. What is special about wool bouquets for the Beijing Winter Olympics?
A. They'll never fade. B. They're environmentally friendly.
C. They're designed by athletes. D. They look more beautiful than real flowers.
25. Which of the following can best describe Li Meili?
A. Kind and generous. B. Brave and independent.
C. Responsible and creative. D. Humorous and outgoing.
26. What can be inferred about making a wool bouquet from paragraph 4?
A. It is completed by machine. B. It mainly involves making roses.
C. It needs lots of efforts and energy. D. It can be finished in a short time.
27.Why is each group responsible for only one or two kinds of flowers?
A. To make weavers comfortable. B. To pursue an excellent quality.
C. To ensure the flowers "green". D. To add "branches" to bouquets.

Mastering a foreign language is probably a skill that's in high demand. Whether you're doing international business, social work, or just on holiday abroad, the ability to effectively communicate with anyone in their own language is of great help and significance.
Using AI technology, two famous Japanese inventors have developed a more advanced language translation device—an instant translator called MUAMA Enence. It can easily translate what you are saying into over 40 languages in quite a short time, using only a few touches of fingers.
Learning a new language takes months, or even years of hard work and practice, while MUAMA can offer instant communication in another language. An experienced professional translator is more expensive and must be paid for more than once. But MUAMA requires only a single payment for a wide selection of languages, which cost you much less to use. MUAMA is more convenient and simpler thanks to its lightweight design and small size, and it is also easy to carry around in a pocket or a bag, as well as being there when one needs it. It works well even in noisy and crowded places since it has a perfect sound quality, which is powerful enough to be heard clearly, And text translation function is available.
MUAMA was created primarily for travelers. With a MUAMA translator abroad you can ask for directions, order a meal, or just have a friendly conversation in 40 different languages! Take your next foreign trip to a whole new level you've never experienced before. Language barriers should no longer be a problem.
Moreover, it has begun to gain great popularity even among people in other areas. What has amazed us is that more and more international social workers and rescue workers, as well as volunteers, choose MUAMA to simplify their work. After using the translator, people effectively raised the quality of work.
28. What ability does the author stress in the beginning?
A. Making a plan for a holiday. B. Starting international business.
C. Doing significant social work. D. Communicating with foreigners.
29. What do we know about MUAMA according to paragraph 3?
A. It is cheap but inconvenient. B. It is lightweight but complex.
C. It can help to get rid of noise. D. It can translate speech and text.

A. Foreign travelers. B. Social workers. C. Exchange students. D. Volunteers abroad.

C. The features of a translator and its application.
D. The methods of translating languages instantly.

Brothers and sisters can actually boost your physical and mental health. Here's how.
Having a younger sibling might make you slimmer. A study by University of Michigan found that children who were six or under when a new brother or sister arrived had a healthier BMI. Given that childhood weight issues can turn into adult weight problems, having a younger brother or sister might well resolve the annoyance.
Sisters can protect you from depression. Sisters, whether younger or older, help prevent their teenage siblings from feeling guilty, unloved, lonely, shy and fearful, according to a study from Brigham University. That will benefit you even when you reach adulthood.
Having brothers and sisters makes you more charitable. The same research found that having siblings made you twice as likely to do good deeds. A study of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research found that if a sibling was warm and kind, the other sibling was likely to display the same qualities.
They're a spirit booster in later life. Research has found that having a meaningful relationship with brothers and sisters when you're older can lead to greater life satisfaction, greater psychological wellbeing, higher spirit and fewer depressive symptoms. That is vital as you enter old age.
They help you live longer. In a study from the American Sociological Association, older adults who described themselves as being "extremely close" to the family members they listed had a 6% chance of dying over the next five years, compared to a 14% risk for the people who reported not being very close to the family members listed.
Having good friends can bring many of the same benefits. We don't all have brothers and sisters,or you might be distant from yours. Don't panic;research also shows that having close friends can boost your health, wellbeing and longevity. Make friends by signing up to groups or classes and finding people who enjoy the same things as you.
32. What does the underlined word "sibling" in paragraph 2 mean?
A. Brother or sister. B. Parent. C. Uncle or aunt. D. Friend.
33.How do sisters benefit a teen according to the study of Brigham University?
A. Acting like adults. B. Having a good figure.
C. Enjoying mental health. D. Being more independent.
34. Whose study concludes that siblings help one with a longer lifespan?
A. Michigan University. B. Brigham University.
C. The Canadian Institutes of Health Research. D. The American Sociological Association.
35. What's the purpose of the passage?
A. To help teens make good friends.
B. To introduce the benefits of siblings.
C. To help keep good family relationship.
D. To advocate following siblings' advice.

It's difficult not to admire the talent of a skilled musician. Whether it is a pianist, a violinist or a drummer, these individuals have shown devotion and passion over a long period of time to reach the highest levels of performance. But they say it is never too late to learn a musical instrument. 36
Learning to play an instrument when growing up can improve hearing in adulthood. According to a study by Professor Nina Kraus, children who played musical instruments were better at recognizing different frequencies. This enhanced hearing skill into later life. Moreover, it could also have some academic benefits too, 37
For the adults who don't have the opportunity to learn one in childhood, whether you choose to play the piano. or learn a drumbeat, you could end up joining a band or orchestra. This can in turn enrich your social life. 38 Mastering the perfect chord is one way, but what if you got together with a bunch of friends and entered into a competition-and won?
_ 39 Obviously, picking up an instrument can help them kill time. But more importantly,it can effectively prevent them from dementia(老年痴呆)as several regions in the brain are active in the process of playing instruments.
40 Why not begin by yourself? Chances are that you can establish a band with your children and parents.
A. They also take pride in their own achievements.
B. Will you simply admire others' talents and performances?
C. Positive effects on those who have retired cannot be ignored.
D. So what are the benefits for children, adults and even seniors?
E. Learning an instrument can also give you a sense of achievement.
