Lesson 46: Protect Our Environment 教学设计
一、整体设计思路:
本单元的课题是save our world 是与环境保护有关的内容,在这节课中,我先以两组图片进行对比(一组为没有被污染的美丽的几张图片,另一组是被污染的环境的几张图片),通过对比让学生意识到保护环境的重要性及必要性,呼吁人们要亲自践行来保护我们的环境,让学生在具体的情境中,发表自已的观点,锻炼自已的英语口语能力。接着根据课文中的第三段设计听力题,综合考查学生的听力能力及基础知识的掌握水平。然后以任务型阅读的方式处理文中的第四,五,六自然段,在此环节中培养学生的阅读方法及技巧。最后以小组合作探究的方式进行讨论,发表自己的见解,从情感价值观这一层面进行提升,最后以书面表达的形式来达到写作训练的目的,这也是学生表达自己情感的一个窗口,通过本课的学习,让学生对正确的保护环境,保护地球付出自己的微薄的力量,这也是正能量的一种表现形式。
二、教学背景:
《lesson46:Protect Our Environment》是冀教版八年级unit8《Save Our World》单元教学中的一课,本单元重点谈论关于环境保护的话题,以及人们面对环境问题尤其是年轻人应当怎样去做。关注了世界上年轻人对环保的态度和做法。 这节课主要是介绍了住在埃德蒙顿的Katie对于环境保护所做的事情:节约用水,垃圾分类,垃圾回收再利用,骑自行车去上学,建议人们乘公共汽车旅游,最后呼吁大家,只要我们能在生活中改变一点点,我们的环境就会好起来。
三、教学内容
Teaching Aims:
Knowledge aim:
- learn some words and phrases to describe how to protect our environment.
- Learn some reading skills, such as predicting, skimming, scanning.
2.Make students know that now the earth has a lot of serious problems and people are causing a lot damage to the earth. And if people don’t stop polluting the world and pay more attention, the whole situation will be more and more serious.
Ability aim:
1.Make the students the real masters in class while the teacher himself acts as the director.
2.Improve the students’ reading comprehension ability and written ability
Emotion aim:
1. Arise students’ awareness of protecting our environment
2.Encourage the students to do something to save and protect the earth and our environment.

Teaching procedures:
Step1:warm-up:
1.出示三张环境污染图片, 问学生:What can you see in the picture? Guess what are we going to learn? Yes, we are going to learn a lesson about environment. And this lesson is a reading lesson. We can also learn some reading skills. First skill is predicting. Predicting means guess what happened. We can use picture, title, some key words to guess.
(设计思路:通过三张图片,引出话题---保护环境,通过让学生根据图片猜测本课主题来引出第一个阅读技巧---predicting。)
2.出示图片并提问讨论:Talk about the following behaviors. What is he/she doing? Is it right? Is it good for environment? 学生描述回答后接着问: What should we do to protect our environment in our daily life?.学生各抒己见,回答自己的想法。
(设计思路:这一问题的出示及答语目的是在练习本单元的功能项目:Talking about cause, effect and purpose. 最后一句话的出示是为了导入新课。)
Step2: New words study.
- Ask students to read the new words by themselves according to the pronunciations
- Complete the exercises with the new words
(设计思路:学生根据音标自学自读课文新单词,并根据句意完成单词填空)
Step3: Listen to the 3rd paragraph and do the exercises:
1.What do we waste the most?
Water B. Paper C. Electricity
2.What points mentioned in the lesson?

□turn off the lights
(设计思路:本题的设计意图是听主旨,听细节,通过听力训练,培养学生听力技巧及理解能力。)
Step4: Reading the text.
- Read the text aloud, then try to find out the phrases in a group of four.
- Fast read. Show some topic words about this lesson. Ask students: What did the writer talk about in this lesson?(use the reading skill ----skimming.)
- Read again and fill in the chart.(use the reading skill -----scanning)

- Fill in the blanks and try to retell the text with paragraph 2&3.
(设计思路:此题采用任务型教学法,利用各种阅读技巧,采用任务型阅读来处理课文,先整体,在细节分层,题型设置也体现了分层教学法,由易到难。此题还涉及了阅读方法和技巧skimming and scanning。)
Step5:Reading comprehension with mind map (deal with paragraph 4)
T: Have you ever seen the sign? Where have you seen?
S: Yes. Rubbish bin.
T: What does the sign mean?
S: It means recyclable.
T: What things can be recycled?
S: paper, bottle…
T: How do we usually find the recyclable waste.
S: We sort them from the other waste.
T: And then how to deal with the recycling?’
S: A big truck pick up them.
T: What did they used for at last?
S: They can be made into new things.
(设计思路:利用思维导图以问答形式层层递进,环环相扣学习本段内容,加深了学生理解文章的能力,突破了重难点。此设置培养了学生的想象力和逻辑思维及用所学知识解决实际问题的能力)
Step 6. Discussion
Show three transportations and discuss the following questions.
1.How do you usually go to school?
2.Do you think what kind of transportation is the greenest?
3.Compare the following transportation.
What can make pollution?
Which one make the least pollution
Step 7. Deal with the language points.

否定句:try not to do sth.尽量不要干某事

Step 8 Do the exercises
Ask students to do the exercises by themselves.
Step 9 Homework
- Play a short video and know the serious of environment pollution.
- Make an English Hand-copied (英文手抄报)"begin from us" to introduce how to protect the environment.
(设计思路:作业设置以手抄报书面表达的形式来达到写作训练的目的,这也是学生表达自己情感的一个窗口,让学生对正确的保护环境,保护地球付出自己的微薄的力量,并付诸到实际行动中去,才能使学生真正从课本中学到知识。)
