1. Warm-up and lead-in

（1）Ask students to discuss :What did you do during summer vacation?

（2）Show some pictures and let students try to speak in English/   

2. Presentation and practice

Let’s learn

（1）Work on 1a.

  a. student read the phrases loudly and match the activities with the pictures (a—g).

b. the teacher point out the past tense of the verbs.

c. student play a game to consolidate these phrases.  

（2）Listening activity :work on 1b   

1. Student listen to the tape and number the people (1—5) in the picture.
2. students imitate the conversations and fill in the blanks. Pay attention to their pronunciation and intonation.

（3）Pair work :work on 1c

Students look at the picture on ppt and practice in pairs.

　　A: where did Tina go on vacation?

　　B:She went to the mountains.

（3）Listening activity :work on 2a and 2b

1. Teacher play the recording the first time, students only listen and match the person with the place. Check the answers.

  b. Play the recording second time. Students check “Yes, I did” or “ No, I didn’t” as they hear. Check the answers.

3. Production

（1）Listening to the radio again and report like this:

Grace went to New York City. She went with her mother. She thought Center Park was really nice. She bought a hat for her father. ...

（2）Work on Role-play conversations between Grace, Kevin and Julie.

A: Grace, where did you go on vacation?

B: I went to New York City.

A: Oh, really? Did you go with  anyone?

B: Yes, I went with my mother.

（3）Work on 2d :

1.           Students read the conversations and finish the mind map
2.         Teacher shows the language points on the ppt
