    by表示“通过……方法、手段”等。 by ding sth. 意为“通过……(方法、途径)做某事”by是个很常用的介词(有时也用作副词),在初中英语中的其他用法有以下几种: (1) 意为“在……旁”、“靠近”。如: ► The ld man is fishing by the lake. 老人在湖边钓鱼。
    (2) 意为“不迟于”、“到……时为止”。如:   ►Jim usually ges hme by seven in the afternn. 吉姆通常在下午7点前回家。(3) 表示方法、手段,可译作“靠”、“用” 、“凭借”等。►I study math by listening t the teacher carefully in class. 我通过在课堂上专心听讲的方式学习数学。 (4) 用于被动句中,表示行为主体,常译 作“被”、“由”等。►Chinese is learnt by many peple in freign cuntries. 在外国,许多人学习中文。
    (5) 组成其它短语: by the way :意为“顺便说”、“顺便问一 下”, 常作插入语。 ► By the way, what are yu ging t d tmrrw? 顺便问一下,明天你打算做什么呢? by neself :意为“单独”、“自己”。 ► Grandpa Li lives in the ld huse by himself. 李爷爷一个人住在老房子里。 neself :意为“自学”。 ► Mary is great, she learns t dance by herself. 玛丽真了不起,她自学舞蹈。
    ►My sn is t yung t g t schl. 我的儿子太小了,不能去上学。►The girl is t shrt t get the bk n the shelf. 这个女孩太矮了,够不到书架上的书。► It’s never t ld t learn. 活到老,学到老。
    It’s t hard t understand spken English.意为 “听懂英语口语太难了”。“t + 形容词/副词 + t + 动词原形”结构,意为“太……而不能……”,该句型用于肯定句,但表示否定的意义。
    Annie, I’m a little nervus. 安妮,我有点紧张。 a little 可直接修饰不可数名词、形容词副词比较级。 a bit 修饰名词时其后须加f,即a bit f,后接不可数名词。► I dn't like milk, s I just drank a little just nw. 我不喜欢牛奶,所以刚才只喝了一点点。 =s I just drank a bit f milk just nw.►He is a little late tday. 他今天有点晚了。 =He is a bit late tday.
    That desn’t sund t bad. 那听上去不算太糟糕。 sund用作连系动词,“听起来”,其后常跟形容词。 英语中常用的连系动词: 一是(be),一感(feel),一保持(keep), ……起来:有四个连系动词(sund, lk, smell, taste), 好像(seem) 变了:有三个连系动词( get, turn, becme)。
