    Jane Austen ever ppular
Last summer, the UK hnred ne f its favrite writers, Jane Austen (1775 - 1817), by making her the face f the new £10 nte. In the 200 years since her death, Austen's fame has increased t glbal fame.
Yet Austen's wrks are s very English that it's rather strange she shuld be s ppular all ver the wrld. Her nvels are s f her time that it's remarkable that she's still appreciated in this very different age. Her mst famus wrks — including Pride and Prejudice(《傲慢与偏见》) the ne fr which she is mst knwn — are set in the wrld f the English gentry (上流社会人士) in the early 19th century.
Mst f her fictin is abut yung wmen f that time. Wmen f the gentry culd nt wrk, s their chances f happiness r even basic living depended upn finding a husband. This is a very serius subject, f curse, but the jy f Austen’s stries is her ability t make wnderful, but als tuching cmedy ut f smething s serius.
Take Pride and Prejudice as an example. The main plt f the nvel is driven by the lve-hate relatinship between Elizabeth and Mr Darcy, a wealthy man. At first, they dn't get n. Elizabeth finds Darcy t prud; she feels he thinks he is better than everyne else. She thinks that he lks dwn upn her family in particular. Darcy, while admiring Elizabeth, believes that she has taken unfairly t him. The pleasure f the nvel is reading hw these difficulties are vercme and hw the cmical and unexpected ending is achieved.
If we think abut this stry, it's bvius why Jane Austen is still ppular mre than 200 years after her death, and why readers can still have the same feelings with characters frm the lng dead wrld f the 19th century English gentry. Althugh there have been many changes since that time, it's still the greatest challenge in life fr men and wmen t find the partner f their dreams.
1.It can be cncluded frm Paragraph 2 that the authr ________.
A.believes Jane Austen's wrks are ahead f her time
B.thinks that everyne shuld read Jane Austen's wrks
C.has dubts abut Jane Austen's ppularity all ver the wrld
D.is surprised that Jane Austen's wrks are still s ppular
2.Accrding t the text, Pride and Prejudice __________.
A.has a sad and unexpected ending
B.deals with a serius scial issue in a lighthearted way
C.centers n pr peple's struggles in the early 19th century
D.tells readers that everyne can succeed thrugh hard wrk
3.We can learn frm the text that Jane Austen remains ppular tday because _________.
A.readers enjy reading lve stries abut wealthy peple
B.readers are attracted by the way peple deal with difficulties in the stries
C.readers can always find smething new frm her nvels
D.her wrks deal with prblems many f tday's readers still face
    4.The text is mainly written t ________.
A.tell us why Jane Austen is chsen t be n the new £10 nte
B.intrduce the stry f Pride and Prejudice
C.explain why Jane Austen is still ppular tday
D.intrduce Jane Austen's creative writing style

S when we lk in a real mirrr, we shuldn’t think t urselves, "D I lk as gd as myself in the filtered phts?" Instead, we shuld think, "I feel gd; I have my health."

B.Pht editing apps are likely t cause peple's anxieties abut their appearance.

D.Pht editing apps help peple judge realistic beauty.
3.When it cmes t appearance, why d many yung peple suffer an identity truble?

    D.答案:1-4.CBDA

    ②本段都是在谈论何时制作复习时间表的话题,因此本段的小标题应该突出时间,即"Plan in advance"(提前计划)。
    ③空后的"track yur develpment effectively"与C项"Revisin is a prcess f imprvement"相呼应。
④本段的小标题是要有策略地安排复习科目,D项中的"Ordering yur subjects in an effective manner"与之呼应,且下文举了如何排序的例子。
