第二节书面表达(满分25分)
Possible version
Anxiety can be experienced every now and then, especially when you are preparing for the college entrance examination. You show up at school much earlier and leave school later than before, only to find what used to be easy to achieve now demands far more efforts, which makes some students more and more anxious. To make matters worse, it has an serious effect on some students’ physical and mental health.
Fortunately, there are several steps you can take to reduce the anxiety. First and foremost, work out on a regular basis, which is a great way to distract your mind from the negative emotions. Additionally, you had better step away from those who make you feel not-good-enough and instead focus on your own strengths. Last but not least, it is equally a good idea to talk about your anxiety with your teachers, parents or trusted friends. Sometimes just voicing your feelings can rid you of anxiety.Hopefully, these steps will relieve your anxiety, which can benefit your physical and mental health.

Text 1
W: Should I take a taxi or a bus to the town center?
M: You can take either, but the train goes directly there. It’s cheaper, too.
W: Thanks. I’ll do that instead.
Text 2
M: Is this the check-in counter for Flight 814 to Los Angeles?
W: Yes, but I’m sorry to tell you the flight is delayed because of rain. Please wait for further notice.
Text 3
W: I like watching TV plays in my spare time. But there are always so many advertisements.
M: Yes, but I think the design of advertisements is a kind of art.
Text 4
W: Tom’s father allowed him to play football, but the time is within an hour.
M: That’s the best news I have heard today. We will have a best player in our team.
Text 5
M: How about going for a bike ride?
W: Sure. Where?
M: Let’s call Harry and ask him. He always knows the best places to go.
W: That’s a good idea. I’ll get ready.
Text 6
M: Good morning. I’d like to buy a cake.
W: No problem, sir. We have many cakes here. What size would you like?
M: Well, it’s for my colleague’s birthday. There are fourteen people in the office.
W: Well, this cake feeds twelve people, and this one behind it feeds twenty.
M: I’ll take the bigger one. It’s better to have too much than not enough.
W: Sounds good. Do you want it delivered?
M: Yes. Can you deliver it to my office? The birthday party will be after work, at a park near the office.
Text 7
W: Do you know there is a football match tonight between Brazil and England? It will be a close match, right? I can’t wait for it.
M: Tonight? Oh, I am too busy with my driving test. I don’t know the details at all recently.
W: To be exact, one o’clock in the morning. Don’t you want to watch it? You are learning to drive a car, but you need a good rest.
M: My God. Do remember to call me this evening, will you? I don’t want to miss the most exciting game between the two teams.
Text 8
M: Hi, Grandma! I’m calling to say happy birthday. I hope you’re having a good day.
W: Thank you, Michael! It’s great to hear from you. It’s been a while since we’ve talked.
M: I know, Grandma. I’m sorry. I’ve been so busy with school activities lately. I’m captain of the basketball team this year. And I’m also applying to colleges for next fall.
W: Oh, Michael, I’m so proud of you! You’re a very determined young man. Do you know where you want to go to college?
M: I really want to go to the University of Southern California, but they might not let me in! It’s a very good school, and it’s very difficult to be accepted there.
W: Well, I’m sure they will take you, honey. You’re a special young man. You’ve really made your grandfather and me so proud.
Text 9
W: Hi. Mr. Gasbag? I’m Mrs. Peterson, I’d like to have a look at this house.
M: Nice to meet you. Come in, please. Let me show you the place. The place is very convenient, as it’s only a five-minute walk from the nearest underground railway station.
W: That’s right.
M: This way, please. We’ve got a new fridge in the kitchen. And in the bathroom we have 24-hour hot water.
W: This must be the bedroom. Oh, my God! I love that French window. The sunshine makes me feel good.
M: I’m glad to hear that, Mrs. Peterson. And this is a very safe building, too.
W: That’s good. The advertisement says the rent is 320 a month, right? Could you think about giving me a lower price?
M: I’m afraid I can’t decide it. You should decide the price with the landlord instead of me. He’ll be here tomorrow.
W: Many thanks. I’d like to talk it over with my husband this evening. After all, it’s a good place.
Text 10
M: Good morning, everyone! I am Professor Smith, and I am your laboratory instructor. This class is intended as a necessary part of the course, which Dr. James will be in charge of. We will have a class twice a week in the laboratory. The class begins at nine. First, I expect you to be on time. I do not intend to wait for latecomers or repeat what has already been covered if you miss the explanation. Do not arrive late and interrupt your neighbor; you may as well not come if you can’t be on time.
Attendance is equally important. If you miss three lab classes, your name will be moved away from the class list, I’m afraid. No excuses. You can’t complete the course without completing lab class.
Safety is a must here. It is very important to keep things neat and clean, dress properly, and be careful. You cannot eat, drink or smoke in the laboratory and you should always clean the table top and wash your hands before and after the class. Long hair must be tied up. Large clothing must be worn. And, finally, any laboratory accident must be reported immediately.
I hope you’ll enjoy the laboratory. It’s a wonderful place but all these instructions are to be strictly followed. We will begin today by learning about the microscope.
