I. Warm-up & revisin
1. Sing the sng “ABC sng”.
2. Review the sunds f sme cnsnant letters.
T: What des the letter Pp say?
Ss: /p/.
T: p, p, p, /p/, /p/, /p/.
……
II. Presentatin
1. Listen t the sunds and spell the wrds.
T: What’s this? ( shw the picture f a duck)
Ss: It’s a duck.
T: Let’s spell the wrd accrding t the sunds.
(play the sund, duck, /d/, /ʌ/, /k/, duck and the teacher spells the wrds)
Ask t spell the last three wrds, under, run and fun accrding t the sunds.
2. Find ut the sund f letter U.
T: The fur wrds have the same letter. Can yu tell me what it is? And what des the letter sund?
3. Listen t the chant abut the letter U.
III. Practice
1. Blending games
(1) T: Can yu read the wrd? Let’s try.
Practice the wrds with un, ut, ug by changing the first letters.
(2) make new wrds
T: Please take ut yur wrd calendars. Let’s wrk in grups. One student makes new wrds by turning the wrd cards and the ther three read the wrds. D it in turns.
T: Which grup wants t cme here and present it fr us?
(3) I say, yu d
T: I say a wrd, and yu spell the wrd in grup as fast as pssible. Let’s see which grup is the number ne.
(4) Listen and number
T: Take ut yur bk and pen t the page 50. Listen and number.

(The teacher writes the fur wrds n the blackbard with the Ss tgether.)
2. Listen and chant
T: Let’s listen t the chant twice and try t chant after it.
3. A stry: It’s fun t jump
(1) T: Bys and girls, let’s read a stry. First, please read it by yurselves.
(2) Watch the stry tgether and try t feel the prnunciatin.
(3) Read with the Ss. (the wrds with the letter U are cvered)
(4) Read the stry in pairs.
