In our school, we divide waste into four different kinds, hazardous waste (有害垃圾), recyclable waste (可回收垃圾), kitchen waste (厨余垃圾) and other waste (其他垃圾). As students, we should learn from our classmates and discuss ways to sort waste.

Learning the language of a country isn't enough. If you see the manners of your foreign friends, you will probably be surprised just how different they can be from yours.
A visitor to India should remember that people there are impolite to use the left hand for passing food at table. The left hand is used for washing yourself. Also in India, you might see a man shaking his head at another man to show that he is disagreeing. But in many parts of India, a rotating (转动) movement of the head is to show agreement. In Bulgaria you shake your head to show “yes”, and nod your head to show “no”.
In Europe it is quite usual to cross your legs while sitting and talking to someone, even at an important meeting. But doing this could cause offence (反感) to a Thailander. Touching the head of a grownup is just not done in Thailand.
Knowing about manners is useful when you are travelling, but you need to know the language used to express the manners.

When I was in the seventh grade, I volunteered at a hospital during the summer vacation. Most of the time, I was with Mr. Gillespie. He never had any visitors, and nobody seemed to care about him. I spent many days there holding his hand and talking to him. He became a close friend of mine, although he never replied to me. Mr. Gillespie was still in a coma (昏迷).
I was away for a week to go on vacation with my parents, and when I came back, Mr. Gillespie wasn't in hospital. I didn't want to ask the nurses where he was. I was afraid they might tell me he was dead. However, I kept volunteering there for a long time.
Several years passed. One day, when I was at the gas station, I noticed a familiar face. I asked him if his name was Mr. Gillespie, and if he was in a coma about five years ago. With an uncertain look on his face, he replied, “Yes. ” I explained how I knew him and what I did in the hospital. With tears in his eyes, he gave me a warm hug.
He told me that when he was in a coma, he could hear me talking and feel me holding his hand. He thought it was an angel, not a person, who was there with him. Mr. Gillespie believed that my voice and touch kept him alive.
Although I haven't seen him since then, he fills my heart with joy every day. I know that I made a difference between his life and death. More importantly, he has made a very big difference to my life, too. I'll never forget him and what he did for me—he made me an angel.
67. The writer was ____ when he volunteered in the hospital.
A. a student B. a nurse C. a doctor D. a teacher
68. Mr. Gillespie believed that the writer's ____ kept him alive.
A. hug and spirit B. voice and touch

B. thinks volunteering can help him make more friends
C. wants more people to work as volunteers in their free time
D. gets a lot of money from volunteering in the hospital

Job interviews can be very different from country to country. An interviewer's “body language” and questions, and the form of an interview are not the same around the world.
If you're at a job interview in Japan, don't look directly into the eyes of the interviewer. It is considered impolite. But if you're at an interview in the US, you should make eye contact(交流) with the interviewer. If you don't, the interviewer may think you are not sure about your ability.
In the US and some other countries, interviewers aren't supposed to ask questions about family or personal information. In most countries, however, personal questions are very common during job interviews.
In Germany, your interview might begin with a very short conversation followed by a formal(正式的) interview. In Mexico and many other countries, the whole interview might not be formal.
