Unit 1 Looks!      Let's practice

一、教学目标

1. 知识目标：  

The students practice these words: tall, short, young, old, strong. 

They are required to be able to speak and use these new words.

Make sentences : He’s my... .   He’s....

2.能力目标：

The students are required to be able to speak and use these new words freely in daily life. 

The teacher should as much as he/she can encourage the students to speak English.

3.情感目标：

 The teacher should create a condition where the students can enjoy themselves much while 

They are learning. In other words, learning English should be a fun, not a boring job.  

二、学情分析

　　1.针对二年级学生年龄小的特点，培养学生的学习兴趣。

　　2.针对学生学习英语的水平不同，采取小组合作和小组竞赛的形式，提高学生的英语应用能力。

三、教学重点

The  words: tall, short, young, old, strong.

Talk about the pictures and use “Look. this is my...He’s...”to make up the sentences.

四、教学难点

Enable students to speak and write these new words freely in their daily life.

Draw and talk about your families “He’s my... He’s...”

识记单词、句子并能运用到练习中去，在小组合作和小组竞赛中进行实际的对话操练。

五、教学过程

　　Step 1: Warming  up

1. Greetings.
2. Game “Simon Says”  ( Review the words.)
3. Chant
4. Song

I have some friends. I’ll introduce them to you.

They are Mr. Horse, Baby Horse, Mr. Bear, Mr. Monkey.

Do you want to make friends with them? They’ll play games with us .

Do you want to play with them?

Step 2:Presentation

1. Let’s listen and point.(说)
2. Let’s listen and tick or cross.
3. Game : Whose house is this?

     T: Whose house is this? What’s he like? 

       Is he tall/ fat/ short…?

     S: No, he isn’t. He’s …

Step 3:Practice

1. Let’s stick and say.

① Show them some clothes.

T: What’s this? A shirt. Whose shirt is this?

Look! This is my brother. He’s short. Is this his shirt?

S: No, it isn’t.

T: This is my father. He’s tall. Is this his shirt?

S: Yes. ( Try it on ).

② Look! There are many clothes. Whose clothes are these? What’s he like?

        Draw it on your paper.

Talk about your pictures in groups.

        You can use “Look, my … He’s …”to make up sentences.

        S: He’s tall/…  (Talk in groups.)

③Choose some students ,come to the front. Let’s try the clothes on.

T: Which one do you like?

S: I like this one. “Look, my … He’s …”

T: It’s too big for him./…

          ( It’s fit for him. I’ll give it to you.)

④ Stick your pictures on your books. P7

Step 4:Let’s listen.

① I have a lot of friends. They are in a circus. Do you want to go with them?

         Listen to the dialogue.

② T: What animals have you heard?

         S: A tall horse./ A young horse./ …

③What happened in the circus?

        Let’s act out the dialogue in groups.

Step 5: Homework

Draw and talk about your families (using these sentences) ：“He’s my... ”
